RAIN, the acclaimed Beatles concert, returns by popular demand, direct from Broadway! They look like them and they sound just like them! "The next best thing to seeing The Beatles," raves the Denver Post. All the music and vocals are performed totally live! RAIN covers The Beatles from the earliest beginnings through the psychedelic late 60s and their long-haired hippie, hard-rocking rooftop days. RAIN is a multi-media, multi-dimensional experience...a fusion of historical footage and hilarious television commercials from the 1960s lights up video screens and live cameras zoom in for close-ups. "A thrilling bit of time-warping nostalgia...Boomer Heaven!" raves The Fort Worth StarTelegram. "Uncanny! RAIN are a quartet of fine musicians in their own right...as The Beatles, they triumph!: cheers the Boston Herald. "An adoring Valentine to The Beatles," declares the Washington Post. Sing along with your family and friends to such favorites as "Let It Be," "Hey Jude," "Come Together" and "Can't Buy Me Love,: and relive Beatlemania from Ed Sullivan to Abbey Road!

DARK GODS AFTER TELLURIA by Barton Paul Levenson is Released
by BWW News Desk - Aug 23, 2016

Barking Rain Press, a non-profit US publisher, announced the print and eBook release of the dark fantasy novel Dark Gods of Alter Telluria from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, author Barton Paul Levenson. A two-time winner of the Parsec Short Story Contest, Levenson's other novels include 'The Celibate Succubus,' 'Max & Me' and 'Year of the Human.' Pittsburgh astrophysics professor Milo Stanford finally had it good for a change. A one-year sabbatical to teach in London and a beautiful new girlfriend. No worries to speak of-until the day he lost it all. Caught outside in a freak thunderstorm, Milo is struck by lightning and wakes up on the parallel world of Alter Telluria. Unable to return home, Milo must adjust to life on a new planet of nation-states that are ruled by supernatural beings, a strange, pseudo-Victorian culture, and a pantheon of dark gods who delight in wreaking havoc on the lives of the local denizens. While struggling to adapt to his new situation, Milo is offered a position in the Scholar's Tower by the vampire ruler Sania, Mistress of Lake Gulia. Despite his abrasive personality and lack of deference, he quickly rises to become one of her most trusted advisors. When the ruling wizard of neighboring Carthusia kidnaps Sania in an attempted coup, Milo is chosen to lead a hazardous rescue mission into the stronghold of the wizard's indomitable magic-where the dark gods are certain to test his mettle. Can Milo rescue Sania and restore her as ruler of Lake Gulia, or do the dark gods of Alter Telluria have other plans? Ask for 'Dark Gods of Alter Telluria' at your favorite bookstore, or buy it online at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, Powells, Waterstones, and many other Internet bookstores, including the Barking Rain Press website. WHO GOES THERE is Released
by BWW News Desk - Aug 22, 2016

Remember a time when children would sit at the feet of their elders listening to imagined adventures? 'Who Goes There,' the first in a series of children's stories, tells the tale of Uncle Brother and the wild events that happen the night his truck breaks down. Is it his imagination or is it real? 'Time just goes so fast and I wanted to capture the fun stories and adventures told to me during my childhood,' said LR Gray, author and narrator of the Granny Gray series. 'I have also fictionalized some of the events of my own children and grandchildren, turning them into creative and fun stories that will spark the imagination of children and their parents.' The Granny Gray series of stories depict fictionalized family events, memories and creative 'what if' scenarios designed to help children think more creatively. Each story, starting with 'Who Goes There,' offers readers fun adventures that also share a message of being helpful, making a difference and being a good person. 'I wanted the stories to bring readers back to a time when children learned life lessons from their elders, where family members respected each other and sought out their advice and counsel,' said Gray. 'In 'Who Goes There,' I also wanted to pay tribute to my Uncle Jimmy 'Bro' Baker who is an amazing human being. He is constantly looking for ways to help others and this first story from Granny Gray shows his generosity of spirit.' 'Who Goes There,' is being launched at a book release event dedicated to Brother Baker and will be held at his church, The New Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church on August 28, 2016. LR Gray will be on hand selling copies of her book and a significant portion of each sale will be donated to the church in Brother Baker's name. The book launch is part of the church's annual Family Reunion event and Ms. Gray will make a presentation at both services. 'LR Gray's new book 'Who Goes There,' is a wonderful addition to our collection of children's books,' said Lisa Umina, founder and publisher of Halo Publishing International. 'Each of her stories capture a simpler time where elders in the family, in this case Granny Gray, inspire the young to do good and to make a difference in their world. I am so excited to see the next in her series, Pillar and His Discoveries in the Rain Forest, due out early 2017.' About LR Gray: LR Gray is a loving grandmother and mother with a passion for preserving the stories of a simpler time where families came first.. L R Gray grew up in a large family, with lots of siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents and a godmother. L R Gray loved the stories her family would share and the many others she would read in her spare time. From this she began to slip off to the wonderful world of imagination, which is where her writing began. About Halo Publishing International: Halo Publishing International is a self-publishing company that publishes adult fiction and non-fiction, children's literature, self-help, spiritual, and faith-based books. BWW Review: BATTERY DANCE FESTIVAL Continues to Enthrall
by Juan Michael Porter II - Aug 22, 2016

'Lovely, never, never change. Keep your breathless charm. Won't you please arrange it? 'Cause I love you.' Those glorious Dorothy Fields penned lyrics to Jerome Kern's evergreen 'The Way You Look Tonight' bubbled through my head during Kilowatts Dance Theatre's joyful performance of Jaime Shannon's 'Flights and Follys'. It was just a couple of swells dancing with their lady-friends to the type of tunes that Gram and Pops listened to when new; back when 'it weren't no sin' to revel in the unabashed sunshine of life. How wonderful to visit those times again. (more...)

BWW Review: SINGING IN THE RAIN at Stolen Shakespheare Guild
by Kyle Christopher West - Aug 20, 2016

In 64 years since the famous film came out, the stage version of SINGIN' IN THE Rain has never quite succeeded on The Great White Way, despite several attempts (a recent endeavor starring Derek Hough was postponed just last month).
