George Street Playhouse Artistic Director David Saint has announced the slate of plays scheduled for the New Brunswick theatre's 2016-17 five-play season. George Street's 43rd season begins in October and will feature five extraordinary productions, including: Mama's Boy, a chilling glimpse into the home life of Lee Harvey Oswald; American Son, a Laurents/Hatcher Foundation Award-winner about the racial divide; Joshua Harmon's Bad Jews, a comedic take on family, faith and legacy; and Daddy Long Legs, a romantic musical based on a classic novel. Public Art Installation by Gordon Huether Opens in Morgan Hill

Approximately one year after the Morgan Hill City Council approved two public art installations by internationally recognized artist Gordon Huether, they now adorn the new parking structure between Third and Fourth Streets. Gordon Huether Studio was part of a design and build team that submitted a proposal package in response to the City of Morgan Hill's request for proposals for the parking garage. The design team, made up of Gordon Huether Studio, F+H construction and WMB architects, worked closely with the City of Morgan Hill to ensure a successful project outcome. (more...)

The original London production of Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil's musical adaptation of Victor Hugo's classic novel LES MISERABLES (LES MIS), which was Messrs Schonberg and Boublil's first collaboration with theater producer Cameron Mackintosh, opened to very mixed reviews from the critics in 1985. But 'LES MIS has always been big for criticism,' says Meghan Lewit for The Atlantic. 'Bombast? Bathos? That's the point. The original production [which remains intact and continues to play at the Queen's Theatre in London until today] has endured because it gave audiences exactly what they wanted.' (more...)
