Melvin Shares Life Story in YOUNG STRANGER

When Melvin was a young boy, he noticed how beautiful the town of Woodbine, Georgia, was. It was full of all kinds of flowers and trees. It inspired him to write about this little town in Southeast Georgia in his book titled 'Young Stranger' (published by Xlibris UK). On News Year's Eve of seventh grade, I made the resolution to step out of my comfort zone and try new things. Little did I know as a twelve year old that this would lead me down an exciting path towards an outgoing, theatrical me! I began to make the conscious choices that would push me out of my little bubble. Before long I was doing theatre and learning new styles of dance. By the end of senior year, I figured I would continue to step out of my comfort zone and move from little Boise, Idaho all the way to New York City for school. That is when I learned that I had a flaw in my mentality, as I soon discovered that life was not just about being willing to try new things, but about having the courage to fail. (more...)

Inis Nua Theatre Company will team up with Drexel University's Mandell Professionals in Residence Project (MPiRP) to present a revival of Dublin by Lamplight by Michael West. Inis Nua's breakout hit from 2011 will be remounted with some familiar names, a grand two-level stage, and the talents of co-op students working side-by-side with the professional actors. Using commedia dell'arte make-up stylings and Storytellers theatre, the cast of six will portray 40 different characters in the fast-paced tale about the launch of the Irish National Theatre. Stalnov Nikitam, a professional cyclist from the Astana Continental Team, won the race and sported the yellow jersey which represented the cycling's most prestigious prize.
