The producers of Tennessee Williams' The Two-Character Play starring Tony Award winner Amanda Plummer (Agnes of God, Pulp Fiction,Hunger Games: Catching Fire) and Academy Award nominee Brad Dourif (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Deadwood), now playing throughSeptember 29th at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street), are pleased to welcome Rob Sedgwick and Elize (Lisi) Russell to the company. The pair will perform the roles usually played by Mr. Dourif and Ms. Plummer at the Monday, September 9 and Wednesday, September 11 (matinee & evening) performances, while Mr. Dourif is out of town attending a funeral of a close relative who recently passed away. On Monday, September 14th, The National Asian American Theatre Company (NAATCO) will present a one-night-only all Asian-American performance of Terrence McNally's LOVE! VALOUR! COMPASSION!, directed by Alan Muraoka, at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) to benefit NAATCO. Joe Mantello, the original director of LOVE! VALOUR! TACT Hosts Post-Show Discussions For 'Eccentricities'

New Yorkers are getting a 'Southern Treat' as the work of famed playwright Tennessee Williams is available on various stages around the city. The most recent offering being The Actors Company Theatre's long-awaited production of Tennessee Williams' The Eccentricities of a Nightingale. In honor of this production TACT will host several post-show discussions exploring the life, love and work of Williams. These discussions will take place directly after the performances at the Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row on West 42nd Street and are free with a purchase of a ticket to the performance. The Eccentricities of a Nightingale is directed by Jenn Thompson and opens May 5th, 2008. (more...)

Previews begin Monday, June 10. Opening Night is set for June 19 at 8:00 p.m. Equal parts Southern Gothic thriller, black comedy and psychological drama, the work, written during a time of great personal strife, is abstractly based on Williams' close yet complicated relationship with his sister, Rose. The producers of the highly anticipated production of Tennessee Williams' The Two-Character Play, uniting the talents of Tony Award winner Amanda Plummer (Agnes of God, Pulp Fiction) and Academy Award nominee Brad Dourif (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest), directed by Gene David Kirk, which began previews at New World Stages(340 West 50th Street) on June 13, announced today that due to an injury sustained by Ms. Plummer, this weekend's preview performances were cancelled and that this evening's performance has been cancelled, as well.
