ON GOLDEN POND is the love story of Norman and Ethyl Thayer, who are returning for theirforty eighth summer together at their lake home, on Golden Pond. They are visited by their daughter Chelsea, who brings her fiancť, Bill, and his 13 year old son, Billy. The son stays with the Thayers while Chelsea and Bill go to Europe where they get married. Billy soon becomes the ďgrandsonĒ the Thayers have always wanted, reviving Normanís youth and teaching him some current teenage slang. The other character is Chairlie, the local man who delivers the mail by boat, and who has always had a crush on Chelsea.

This production of Shakespeare's popular romantic comedy is enhanced by a rock-and-roll score. Much Ado About Nothing is set in Messina, Sicily. Beatrice, niece of the local governor Leonato, and Benedick, a gentleman and friend of the powerful Prince of Aragon Don Pedro, are seeming adversaries, engaging in much verbal jousting and argument. The antagonistic remarks fool neither the men nor the women in Don Pedro's court; Beatrice and Benedick are obviously meant for each other, even if their love isn't instantly apparent. Palm Beach Dramaworks Producing Artistic Director William Hayes announced today that the 2017-2018 season will include two world premieres and three classic plays. The season gets underway at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre on Friday evening, October 20, with Lillian Hellman's masterpiece, The Little Foxes (1939), in which a greedy, merciless Southern family will stop at nothing to get what they want.
