Audiences of all ages can hum along to their favorite songs like 'Edelweiss,' 'My Favorite Things' 'Climb Ev'ry Mountain' and title song 'The Sound of Music' when Central City Opera (CCO) brings to Denver one of the most popular Broadway productions of all time, The Sound of Music. Rodgers and Hammerstein II's Tony Award winning musical, which was also an Academy Award winning movie, is Central City Opera's final production for the 2014 Festival. The Sound of Music will be performed at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in the Denver Performing Arts Complex for seven performances only from August 2 through August 10. Jason Alexander Will Step in for Mandy Patinkin at BSO's SuperPops Program

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) has confirmed that due a schedule conflict resulting from participation in an upcoming Broadway production, Mandy Patinkin has withdrawn from his engagement with the Orchestra, slated for January 22 at The Music Center at Strathmore and January 23-25, 2015 at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. In his place, the BSO welcomes actor Jason Alexander, best known for his portrayal as George Costanza on the hit series 'Seinfeld,' in addition to his lengthy Broadway career. BSO Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly will conduct the program, featuring music and humor as Alexander reminisces about his remarkable and versatile career on the stage and screen, and performs songs from several Broadway favorites, including Music Man, Pippin and Merrily We Roll Along. Given this influence, merchants and brands have a lot to learn from Millennials' regional preferences and how their spending habits differ from other age groups. Specifically, Level Money's data shows that brand loyalties of Millennials are shifting from those of previous generations. While Starbucks and McDonald's still lead as top brands for coffee and fast food purchases, respectively, Millennials are branching out in wide swaths: McDonald's lead among Millennials is only 2-to-1, compared to a 3-to-1 lead among the general population1. As they close in on the August 1st fundraising deadline, and having reached 57% of the $250,000 goal, Cabrillo Music Theatre enthusiastically announces that local businessman/developer John Notter has partnered with the Conrad Hilton Foundation to pledge $30,000 to the fundraising drive. At the same time, Notter and the Foundation ask the community to do the same, and now the race is on to reach the deadline in the next eight days. WFUV, New York (90.7 FM/wfuv.org) teams up again with Celebrate Brooklyn! for a live broadcast from the Prospect Park Bandshell, this time with St. Vincent on Saturday, August 9, beginning at 9 p.m. The concert is the finale of both the 2014 Celebrate Brooklyn! season and the Summer of FUV, which has also included broadcasts from Clearwater, Bonnaroo and Newport, not to mention Jack Johnson at Celebrate Brooklyn! on June 10.
