The Geffen's current production of Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning Long Day's Journey Into Night, starring Jane Kaczmarek and Alfred Molina, will be the first play presented under the partnership. Winchester, Virginia's very own Shenandoah Conservatory's production of Guys and Dolls runs this weekend only, from Friday, February 24th through Sunday, February 27th in the Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre on the campus of Shenandoah University. The boisterous and witty musical is led by Carolyn Coulson (Director), with Rick Edinger (Music Direction), and Jacob Brent (Choreography). I was lucky enough to sit down with four of the show's leading guys and dolls: Taylor Bloom (Sky Masterson), Adia J Seckel (Sarah Brown), Stevie Bovo (Nathan Detroit), and Freya Falkenstein (Miss Adelaide) and hear about their personal experiences working on the Shenandoah production. cARTel: Collaborative Arts LA, with Associate Producers Brownies and Lemonade, Shifty Rhythms, and Department 4, are proud to announce the lineup for the 2017 BROKE LA Music & Arts Festival. The festival's new location will be 4560 Worth St and will occur on the new date of April 8th, 2017. The date move shifts the festival away from overlapping with Coachella weekend for the first time ever, kicking off festival season in Los Angeles. Commenting on the change, Executive Director Negin Singh notes, "It is important for us, first and foremost, that our event serve our artists in their professional development. We are proud of our unbelievable talent and want to ensure that those in the music industry as well as our audience can freely engage in discovery at our festival without having to sacrifice celebrating what's big in the mainstream festival circuit.' Michelle Wolf is a New York based writer, actor and stand-up comedian, as well as one of the fastest rising comedic talents in the city.  She currently works as an on-air performer and writer for Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.  Previously, Michelle was a writing supervisor and performer on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where she appeared regularly in various bits and as the popular reoccurring character she created "Grown-Up Annie."  She has also made a number of appearances on Comedy Central's hit late night game show @Midnight and appeared on Louis CK's Horace and Pete.  (more...)
