Mark Cortale, Producing Artistic Director of The Art House in Provincetown, MA, has announced that 6-time Tony winner Audra McDonald will return to Provincetown on August 21 for one show only, joined by husband and fellow-Broadway star Will Swenson.  Matthew Morrison star of "Glee" and "Finding Neverland" is also slated to join pianist & host Seth Rudetsky for the Broadway @ Town Hall series on August 7th.  The Art House's hotly anticipated 2016 summer season will also include artists like Vanessa Williams, Kristin Chenoweth, Patti LuPone, Cheyenne Jackson, the Indigo Girls, Megan Hilty, Judy Kuhn, Gavin Creel and Steve Grand, among others. This summer, the venue's marquee Broadway concert series will again encompass performances at both The Art House as well as Provincetown's Town Hall. I've met Matthew several times over the last decade and a half. The first time was in 2002, right after Hairspray opened. The second instance was at 54 Below, when he was seeing his on-screen arch nemesis, Jane Lynch, perform. Most recently, I got the chance to briefly chat with him backstage after a performance of Finding Neverland.  When I left the theater, I remember saying he was the most gracious star on Broadway.  Friday, was no different. We are lucky in New York City. The talent here is unbelievable. Sometimes you settle in for an intimate evening at a little local club and you get your socks blown off. On Friday the 13th (of May, to be exact), I had such an experience at the latest monthly installment of Stephen Hanks' Metropolitan Room series (Associate Producer, Fr. Jeffrey Hamblin, MD), New York Cabaret's Greatest Hits. The featured performers were Vocalist Laurie Krauz and her Musical Director Daryl Kojak celebrating their 25-year musical collaboration “It's a 'Greatest Hits' show within a Greatest Hits series!” Hanks extolled before introducing his stars for the evening. Things got real big and real ORANGE on Thursday night at Broadway Sessions, as '16 Drama grads and alums for Syracuse University took the stage at Broadway Sessions. Syracuse Alums Chris Dwan (Elliot in Finding Neverland), Catherine Charlebois (long time Nessarose in Wicked) and Stephen Carrasco (Fiddler, Kinky Boots and a zillion other  shows) were on point (as the kids say). Syracuse grad heavy vocal sensation RANGE a cappella took a break from their Nickelodeon duties and racking up Hamilton YouTube views to serenade the new comers.
