Nell Gwynn - 2016 - West End History , Info & More

Apollo Theatre
29 Shaftesbury Avenue London

Award-winning actress Gemma Arterton will star as Nell under the direction of Christopher Luscombe. Gemma thrilled audiences when she appeared in The Duchess of Malfi in the first Sam Wanamaker Playhouse season in 2014, and most recently appeared in the West End in Made in Dagenham, for which she won an Evening Standard Award.

Charting the rise of an unlikely theatrical heroine from her roots in Coal Yard Alley to her success as Britain's most celebrated actress and mistress to the King, Nell Gwynn was called 'an unending delight' by the Evening Standard and a 'superbly funny new play' by Time Out.
