'Molly's Moon' Released by California Author Ron Parham
by BWW News Desk - Aug 21, 2014

On a routine trip to Europe, widowed businessman Ethan Paxton learns of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon while landing in Amsterdam on September 11, 2001. Stuck in the Netherlands while fear grips at America's throat and the world is in chaos, he finds out his teenage daughter Molly has been abducted by terrorists in Mexico while she was on a school mission trip. With America's airports closed for who knows how long, he is left with few options. In desperation, Ethan remembers an old Air Force buddy, Jake Delgado - an ex-cop who's now a broken down, alcoholic private investigator. Tracking Jake to a sleazy bar on the outskirts of the Gas Lamp District of San Diego, Ethan hires him to look for Molly, with Ethan's son alongside. In a white-knuckle race against time, the frantic father finds his way to Mexico City, while his distraught but determined son and Jake turn over the dark underside of Baja, California, searching for the girl and her friends. Their journeys converge at the Tijuana border crossing on September 13, with the diabolical kidnapper and his prostitute companion in the crosshairs. But just knowing the solution isn't the same as executing it. Will the three have what it takes to outwit and outfight the terrorist to save the girls? Recent Praise for 'Molly's Moon': 'Ron Parham's first novel, 'Molly's Moon', is exciting and entertaining. With the terror of 9/11 as its backdrop, the story of widowed American businessman Ethan Paxton's working trip to Europe takes harrowing turn after turn when he learns his teenage daughter has been kidnapped by Mexican sex-traffickers just outside Tijuana. Telling his story from multiple viewpoints, Parham literally shoots for the moon, and he doesn't miss his mark.' - JB Hogan, author of The Apostate and Angels in the Ozarks 'Move over Grisham, Parham's on his way. Patterson's got his Alex Cross, Lee Child has his Jack Reacher, and Ron Parham has Jake Delgado ... really an interesting character.' - Trent Fewkes, retired IRS Agent 'Molly's Moon' is available in both print and ebook format. Book Information: Molly's Moon By Ron Parham Publisher: Pen-L Publishing Published: April 2014 Pages: 317 ISBN: 978-1940222424 ASIN: B00L4NLDUI Genre: Suspense/Thriller About The Author: Ron Parham is a businessman who worked in California's Silicon Valley for thirty years, traveling the world and accumulating a vast storage of experiences, memories and friends. He now works for a major golf company in San Diego County and lives in the seaside community of Carlsbad, CA. Ron's novels will be primarily based upon his unique experiences around the world, set against the exciting events of his generation. 'Molly's Moon' is an example of merging Ron's experiences with the terror and chaos of 9/11, creating a suspenseful, thrilling story. He began writing his first novel, 'Molly's Moon,' the day after he took voluntary retirement from his high-tech job on his birthday in 2011, and he hasn't looked back. He finished the first draft of 'Molly's Moon' in six months, but took a year to complete the editing and rewrite. Pen-L Publishing, a small, family-owned company based in Fayetteville, Arkansas, home to the University of Arkansas, liked what they read and offered Ron a publishing contract in October of 2013. Ron's second novel, 'Copperhead Cove,' will be published by Pen-L.com and should be out in late 2014. BWW Blog: Libby Servais of Transcendence Theatre Company's 'Broadway Under the Stars' - Music of the Night
by Guest Blogger: Libby Servais - Aug 21, 2014

After Ben Vereen's legendary show here at Transcendence Theatre Company, we TTC artists are continuously reflecting on the cherished wisdom and inspiration that Ben has left deeply rooted into our hearts. One moment in particular that I continue to think about is when I asked Ben if he was excited for his show and he replied with a gigantic grin and both hands in the air, 'I wake up excited! Everyday!' I also surrendered my hands into the air and said 'Me too!' And then I realized that I was standing outside a vineyard of grapes, giggling with Ben Vereen about how we must live each day to the fullest... Later he also shared with our company, 'Don't knock em' dead. They're already dead, knock em' into life!' Those epic words will stick with me forever. Basically, when I grow up, I want to be like Ben Vereen! (more...)
