Portable Spa Dealer Offers Tips for Physical Therapy Month
by BWW News Desk - Oct 31, 2013

Spa-Warehouse, a premier hot tub and spa dealer in the Ventura and Simi Valley area selling MAAX portable spas, publishes 3 tips for National Physical Therapy Month. 'When recovering from an injury or illness a doctor may prescribe physical therapy. When doing therapy, the patient is as responsible for their progress as the therapist,' said Jim Vishnefske, president of Spa-Warehouse. 'It can be difficult at times but it is important to do as much as possible to push through the difficulties,' continued Vishnefske. Here are three ways to get the best out of physical therapy for a quicker healing process. Be on Time - Therapists have a lot of patients to see in a day. Being late cuts into the time they have for a patient and makes it hard to stay on track with their treatment plan. Patients should show up on time, or early. They should be ready for the session and dress appropriately. It can be hard in the beginning to know what to expect, but on the first visit with a therapist each person can make sure they ask how the therapist likes their patients to dress. If patients know what the treatment plan is at the beginning, they can keep up with changing needs during treatment, and make the necessary adjustments before going to a session. Do All of the Homework - The kinds of exercises given to each patient will be tailored to their specific needs. Patients should make sure they thoroughly understand the directions on the exercise sheets given to them by their therapist, and that they know exactly how to perform each exercise before leaving a session. The most important thing about the at-home exercises, however, is to do them. The at-home exercises a therapist prescribes for their patients have two purposes. The first is to build strength and ability in the affected areas. The second is just as important, though. Doing the at-home exercises keeps the muscles from tightening up, or losing the benefits of the therapy appointments. Reduce Tension and Relieve Aches - Physical therapy is strenuous for injured muscles. Giving the muscles a relaxing warm water bath will relieve a lot of the aches. A hot tub is the perfect way to soothe and stimulate muscles, as well as relieving stress that can make it harder for injuries to heal. The warm, regulated, temperatures of hot tub water increases blood flow to injured areas and also promotes quicker healing, and better pain relief than a regular tub. The pulsating massage jets provide soothing muscle relaxation, and the depth of a hot tub allows full-body immersion easily. There are many shapes and sizes of hot tubs, and designs that match any needs. Patients can pick from a number of sizes and shapes to fit the hot tub into any space. An extra therapy benefit of hot tubs is the ability to add additional underwater exercise equipment. The benefits of a hot tub last long after therapy ends. They can increase home values, and give everyone in the family a great place to relax after a long day. People wanting to learn more about hot tubs are encouraged to visit the company website and pick up a copy of their free report 'Insider Secrets to Choosing the Best Hot Tub' Visit, http://www.Spa-Warehouse.com/ 'To help local residents understand how portable spas, hot tubs and swim spas can help improve overall health and well-being, Spa-Warehouse will provide free hot tub test soaks during the entire month,' commented Vishnefske. 'We want to encourage local residents to check out the benefits of a relaxing soak in the soothing waters of a hot tub for themselves,' said Vishnefske. Old Hickory Furniture Partners with Barney Bellinger at the High Point Furniture Market
by BWW News Desk - Mar 24, 2014

Adirondack Artist and designer Barney Bellinger and the Old Hickory Furniture Company are collaborating on new exclusive designs to debut this spring at the High Point Furniture Market. Featured at the Market will be two original furniture designs and a limited-edition giclee fine art print on canvas in a Bellinger-designed Old Hickory frame. They will be on display at the Old Hickory booth 1-726 in the Made in America Pavilion in the Suites at Market Square. Bellinger's designs are built from organic and reclaimed materials with his whimsical take on form and function. They bridge the gap between fine art and everyday utility, incorporating bent wood, hand-painted scenes, textured twig mosaic patterns and hickory split bark. The quality and style are consistent with the heritage and craftsmanship that have been a hallmark of Old Hickory for over 115 years. 'Barney will distinguish us with his outstanding creativity, talent and our shared passion to see Old Hickory Furniture Company continue its leadership position as the premier furniture company for rustic design,' says Bob Morrison, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Old Hickory Furniture. 'We are proud to have this relationship with him.' 'It's an honor to be part of this great American company,' says Mr. Bellinger, 'and to be able to add my aesthetic to their historic legacy is nothing short of inspiring. Old Hickory has a timeless quality that has endured without losing any of the authentic ideals of its past successes. It's a huge challenge to create new ideas that continue in this spirit and to design original pieces that Old Hickory customers will be proud to own and pass down as family heirlooms for years to come.' About Barney Bellinger: Based in Mayfield, NY, Barney Bellinger is both a painter and a furniture artisan. He experiences the beauty of natural light and changing seasons in remote, natural landscapes from the Adirondacks to the American West, foraging for raw materials to study natural forms and color. Inspired by his keen observation of these wild, quiet places, Bellinger creates intricate designs that require a mastery of multiple artisanal techniques. He says, 'I do not paint to please critics, but rather to record my travels. Painting for me is a privilege.' Mr. Bellinger has been exhibited at the National Museum of Wildlife Art, the Adirondack Museum, and appears in the permanent collections of the Orvis Company and the Smithsonian Institution. His work is also widely sought after and collected privately. About Old Hickory Furniture Company: Old Hickory Furniture Company has long been recognized as the leading manufacturer of rustic furniture in the United States. It was founded in Indiana in 1899, and today its headquarters and primary manufacturing plant remains in the state, in the town of Shelbyville. Old Hickory customers are among the best known hotels, lodges, resorts, and restaurants in the country, including Old Faithful Inn, Great Wolf Lodges and many more.
