Bay Area artists Hope Briggs and Lawrence Beamen, alongside Atlanta's Sylvia Camille, will perform at the Tenth Anniversary Commemoration of a fallen Vietnam War hero in Washington, D.C. on March 9, 2024.

When it comes to concerts, Audra McDonald says she’s learned to choose a song list that really appeals to her. And she’s done just that for her current tour, which will bring her to Symphony Hall for her eighth appearance with the Celebrity Series of Boston, this time with an orchestra of local musicians, on February 27.

The 36th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Awards Program will be held Thursday, Jan. 11, at 6 p.m. at the Casino Live Hotel Ballroom in Hanover, Md. Dignitaries attending will include Maryland Governor Wes Moore, U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen, Congressman John Sarbanes, County Executive Steuart Pittman, and Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley. The keynote speaker will be Congressman Jonathan Jackson, the youngest son of Rev. Jesse Jackson and godson to Dr. King. Governor Moore will also provide comments at the event.

BAM will host the 38th Annual Brooklyn Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 10:30am EST in the Howard Gilman Opera House.

Directed by DGA Award and five-time Tony Award winner George C. Wolfe and starring Emmy Award winner Colman Domingo, Rustin also includes Audra McDonald, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Adrienne Warren, Michael Potts, CCH Pounder, and more. Check out new photos of the cast now!

Al in 2016 hadden we vergevorderde plannen voor een voorstelling over Josephine Baker. Maar omdat toen ook de plannen voor onze musical over Liesbeth List opeens concreet werden, zagen we ervan af. Vorig jaar kregen we een vernieuwd script in handen. Dat was vrijwel gelijk met de repetities voor Les Misérables, waarin Channah Hewitt de rol van Fantine speelt. Toen viel alles samen. In Channah hebben we ‘onze’ Josephine Baker gevonden.”

African American Voices II includes Margaret Bonds' Montgomery Variations (1964), Ulysses Kay's Concerto for Orchestra (1948), and Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson's Worship: A Concert Overture (2001) and will be released worldwide on Linn Records on October 13, 2023 (digital) and October 20, 2023 (CD).

The story unfolds over 70 new interviews from those well-versed in JFK’s history including his niece Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, comedian and long-time member of the JFK Library Foundation's Board of Directors Conan O’Brien, actor Bruce Greenwood who previously portrayed Kennedy in film, and Pulitzer Prize-winning Eileen McNamara.
