The California Youth Conservatory (CYC), three-time winner of the San Diego A-List Award for 'Best Theatre Group', and recent recipient of the prestigious Bravo San Diego Award for 'Best Musical' for their summer production of Les Miserables, will present its annual fund-raiser concert gala, 'A Night On Broadway' on Thursday, September 10th, 2015. This year's benefit concert will be held at The Headquarters at Seaport District, the new, upscale plaza built on the grounds of the old San Diego Police headquarters. Formerly held at the Lyceum Theatre, this black-tie event will be held under the stars at this luxurious new venue near Seaport Village. (more...)

Les Miserables cast members, Baldwin Wallace classmates, and fellow Broadway performers shed tears and shared embraces under the watch of the Bethesda Fountain angel and tried to find some solace in these truly heartbreaking circumstances. Earlier today, Broadway actor Kyle Jean-Baptiste tragically died from injuries suffered during an accident at his mother's home. Last month, Jean-Baptiste became both the youngest, and the first African American, actor to play the role of Jean Valjean on Broadway. News of his death spread across the internet quickly, with many members of the Broadway community paying tribute to this history-making performer. Cortland Repertory Theatre closes their 44th annual summer season of quality live theatre with the 'squeaky-clean' musical soap opera 'SUDS', which features some of the greatest 1960's pop songs ever written. The show was created byMelinda Gilb, Steve Gunderson and Bryan Scott; Gunderson also created the musical and vocal arrangements. Performances will run from August 26 - September 5 with evening performances at 7:30. Matinees are available on August 28 and 30, and September 1 and 2 at 2:00 PM. Tickets may be purchased by calling 800-427-6160 or at the CRT Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland.
