by Jeffrey Walker - Oct 24, 2014

After last week's final moments on HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER, Annalise Keating dropped a bombshell question on her cheating (and soon to be murdered) husband. This week we were treated to other fireworks. The Keatings continue to argue about the alleged affair with a coed. Her law firm defends a minor accused of shooting his police officer father. by Shari Barrett - Oct 24, 2014

Set in Appalachia and written entirely in verse, Biguenet's charming and mesmerizing solo play introduces us to a wacky, bizarre old woman living in an odd little shack deep in the woods… who just happens to be a witch. Creepily funny and frightening, Jenny O'Hara takes us back to our childhoods when, in our innocence, we first wrestled with good and evil. As she unveils her life, we journey with her down a shadowy path somewhere between our material world and the realm of fantasy. But we soon find out this is no Hansel and Gretel fairytale; in BROOMSTICK, Justice has been meted out swiftly and harshly by the Witch during her entire lifetime. (more...)

BWW Recap: Emotions are Expressed as a 5 (Not a 2.5) on This Week's PARENTHOODBWW Recap: Emotions are Expressed as a 5 (Not a 2.5) on This Week's PARENTHOOD
by Matt Smith - Oct 24, 2014

Last week, I said that PARENTHOOD writers were giving us a little too much too soon in terms of introducing new plot lines this close to the end of the series. This week, I take that back. While I'm still not quite sure where it might lead, the episode this week was very strong, and proves why we still need new storylines. It's 9 — well, 8 now — episodes left, but you gotta fill those episodes with something, some type of stuffing that isn't melancholy, reminiscent of series-finale over/undertones, and good material that keeps the viewers coming back until the end, so that the end will be that much more satisfying. This week provided good stuffing. (more...)
