Students from the Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) will perform in four nationally distributed choreography DVDs for the Music Theatre International (MTI) Broadway Junior collection of musicals. The news was announced today by Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) and educational musical theatre consultancy firm iTheatrics. iTheatrics, which is based in New York City, is producing the DVDs, which will feature original choreography by its chief choreographer, Steven G. Attending students are encouraged to show up on the terrace with signs and plenty of school spirit as they cheer their respective schools on. To talk on the big white phone (to vomit into the toilet), a slang term, has inspired composer and lyricist Ejay Yatco ('Sa Wakas,' World Championships of Performing Arts) to create the new musical titled TOILET. If young audiences enjoyed 'Grease,' Disney's 'High School Musical,' Disney's 'Camp Rock,' and FOX TV's 'Glee,' Blue Repertory's TOILET, would most likely to succeed, too, given further tweaking. If improved, TOILET could attract more young audiences to come to the theater since the musical aims to address the everyday struggles of young adults. (more...)
