Based on a poem by Christina Rossetti

Universally acclaimed in its original Vineyard Theatre production, which was directed by the late Andre Ernotte, Goblin Market sold out and extended its run, and then transferred successfully to the Circle in the Square for a commercial engagement. The show received many accolades, including 7 Drama Desk Nominations (incl. Best Musical; Best Score; Best Actress in a Musical for Terri Klausner; and Best Actress in a Musical for Ann Morrison) and was cited as one of the year's best in the 10 Best Plays Volume. Goblin Market has gone on to be seen in many regional theatres across the country. The original cast recording is available on CD from Jay Records.

Casting Announced for Firebrand Theatre's Inaugural Production LIZZIE

Firebrand Theatre, the first musical theatre company committed to employing and empowering women by expanding opportunities on and off the stage, is pleased to announce casting for its inaugural production, the Chicago premiere of LIZZIE, the rock musical based on the true-life story of accused axe-murderess Lizzie Borden. LIZZIE will play November 11 - December 17, 2017 at The Den Theatre's Bookspan Theatre, 1333 N. Promethean Theatre Ensemble Sets 2016-17 Season

Promethean Ensemble Theatre will enter its second decade with three plays that view characters and stories of the past through the eyes of modern playwrights. Leading off the season in December will be Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, Moises Kaufman's 1997 biographical play about playwright Oscar Wilde's 1895 trials and ultimate conviction for the crime of homosexuality. Casting and Production Crew Announced for THE LIAR

Casting has been announced for The Liar, David Ives's "translaptation" of Pierre Corneille's 1643 farce of the same name, according to Ed Rutherford, the Promethean Theatre Ensemble artistic associate who is directing the production. The title character, Dorante, a charming young man who cannot tell the truth, will be played by Josh Hambrock. Dorante's love interest Clarice (who he believes to be named Lucrece, the name of her friend who will be played by Katherine Schwartz) will be played by ensemble member Meghann Tabor. (more...)

As Puck and the other fairies at Mary's prepare for a celebration, their world is rocked by news of a break-up between their King and Queen. When four mortals wander up the stairs, they get caught in a web of drinking and deception, as they become pawns in a magical game of love, 400 years in the making. Mary's Attic will be filled with music, dance, and fairies of all kinds, as BITE retells one of the Bard's beloved love stories through a queer lens.
