Now in its 13th year, Orchestra Underground continues as ACO's subversive and entrepreneurial redefinition of the orchestra as an elastic ensemble. Led by Manahan, Past Forward illustrates the role the past plays in the present, from composers' own personal explorations of their roots, to broader investigations of the universal role of memory and recollection. Little Fish Theatre Announces New 2017 Season Dates After Flooding

Little Fish Theatre has announced new dates for the remainder of the company's 2017 Season.  Due to this winter's record rainstorms, the theatre was forced to go dark in order to complete emergency electrical repairs.  As a result, the original performance schedule was reconfigured. Quartet was moved to the 2018 Season lineup, but all other productions will see the light of day in this calendar year. (more...)

Second Thought Theatre continues its 2017 season of change with the area premiere of Straight White Men by Young Jean Lee. Local director/actor Christie Vela returns to direct for the company after making her acting debut for Second Thought last summer in A Kid Like Jake. Straight White Men begins with previews on Wednesday, April 12 and runs through Saturday, May 6. The Engeman's latest, Jekyll & Hyde, The Musical is absolutely electrifying and the Broadway caliber cast is positively glorious. This is, without a doubt, a must see for the season. On Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 7:30pm, Skylark Vocal Ensemble and the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF) present Clear Voices in the Dark, an immersive concert interspersing songs from the American Civil War with Francis Poulenc's challenging and rarely performed Figure Humaine, at Florence Gould Hall (55 E. 59th St.). Formed in 2011 by Artistic Director Matthew Guard, Skylark is a premiere a cappella vocal ensemble of leading American vocal soloists based in Atlanta and Boston.
