'Together We Can Make It' Reveals Essence of the Rural South

The Southern American states have once practiced the farming system of sharecropping. This style of farming gives the tenant access to the landowner's lands as long as he gives out a percentage of the crop yield. This kind of arrangement between tenant and landowner can either be beneficial or damaging to their relationship. In 'Together We Can Make It,' author Yvette Brooks Tyler has written an enthralling book that captures the flavor and traditions of a bygone era where sharecropping and the landowner and tenant relationship still exist. MOMMY'S A MOLE Explores Inconsistencies in Murder Case

The discovery of a human skull and then a skeleton in a wooded area in Hamilton, Mass., known for criminal activity changed everything-and nothing-for a family mourning the loss of a beloved daughter, sister, and sister-in-law. Eve Carson, the author of a new book detailing the unresolved mystery surrounding Joan Webster's murder in 1981, claims Joan's family continue to block a legitimate investigation of the case because of Family Secrets they want kept hidden. The book describes efforts to assassinate Carson's character, use psychological abuse, and drive a wedge between her and her children. According to the author, the Webster family ignored facts in the record, and silenced a member of Joan's immediate family-until now. (more...)

American Conservatory Theater announced today the Spring 2014 Repertory featuring students from A.C.T.'s acclaimed Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) Program, as well as a coproduction featuring students from A.C.T.'s Young Conservatory (YC) Program. The three works in repertory this May are Stephen Adly Guirgis' scorching comedy, Our Lady of 121st Street; Georges Feydeau's madcap farce The Girl from Maxim's; and Rob Ackerman's hilarious and heartbreaking Teach for America.
