According to this year's Panto League table, published today by WhatsOnStage, the UK's leading theatre website, there are more productions being mounted up and down the country of Cinderella (22 in total) than any other pantomime title this Christmas. Midtown International Theatre Festival Announces 2013 Season

The Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF)'s fourteenth season will include a slate of full-length plays and musicals, as well as Short Subjects. The Festival will run from July 15 to August 4, 2013, at the June Havoc Theatre, 312 W. 36th Street, NYC, 1st floor; the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre, 312 W. 36th Street, NYC, 1st floor; the Main Stage Theater, 312 W. 36th Street, NYC, 4th floor; and the Jewel Box Theater, 312 W. 36th Street, NYC, 4th floor. Tickets are $15 for short plays and $18 for longer plays. Tickets are available at www.midtownfestival.org. The Festival also offers various group discounts and package passes, good for full-length and short plays. (more...)

I can see going to Venice for the food, for Lido's beaches and for the Gondolas. Heck, I'd go to the Jersey shore for two of the three. Why would you go to Venice for Contemporary art? The 55th Venice Biennale opened on June 1 and runs through November 24th; 88 countries have pavilions including the Vatican in this art world equivalent of the world cup for soccer socialites. Tyler Phillips Announces 1st Cabaret Show WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

Nearly four years have past since Tyler Phillips' work first appeared on a New York stage. His two-act musical, Fairest of Them All, was read at the York Theatre in 2005. The young composer/lyricist is now living in NYC and ready to present his first, local cabaret event. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? is an evening of songs from Tyler's produced and un-produced shows. His personal musical journey has taken him from the blues rock of his native Texas, through the compositions of Ellington, Mingus, Monk and Zappa, to a fateful evening in an orchestra pit playing for a Rodgers and Hart classic. It will all be there on stage presented with the help of some of New York's best young talent. The evening is a benefit in support of one of America's historic working theaters, the Proctor's Theater in Schenectady, NY . (more...)

British Panto, short for Pantomime, is an interactive show with music for the entire family and based on a fairytale.
