Joseph Assadourian's THE BULLPEN to Begin Performances Off-Broadway on 6/12

Actor/playwright Joseph Assadourian, like Charles Dutton and Lead Belly before him, discovered his theatrical voice while serving time behind bars. His new one-man play, The Bullpen, which he wrote and stars in, will begin an open-ended Off-Broadway engagement at The Playroom Theater (151 West 46th Street between Broadway and 6th Avenue) on Thursday, June 12th. Richard Hoehler directs this black comedy, which features Assadourian in 18 different roles. Opening night is set Sunday June 22nd. (more...)

Weston Playhouse Theatre's Annual London Tour Set for 11/4-13

The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company has announced plans for its annual London Theatre Tour, visiting the capital of the English-speaking theatre world from November 4 to 13, 2014. Weston Producing Artistic Director Steve Stettler and London Tour Director Giles Ramsay who have designed the company's 12 previous tours will again be leading the group. Registration has begun, and the company expects to have a full group prior to the official registration deadline of August 4. (more...)

From Cage to Stage - Actor/Writer Joe Assadourian will open his new one-man comedy The Bullpen Off-Broadway on Sunday, June 22nd, at The Playroom Theater. Released from Otisville Correctional Institution in October of 2013 after serving 12 of his 25 year sentence for attempted murder, Assadourian discovered his theatrical ability while reluctantly participating in a workshop behind bars lead by Off-Broadway solo-show Actor/Director Richard Hoehler. The duo has developed the work now for over two years, both inside and outside the state prison system, and it premieres Off-Broadway this summer. (more...)

Cubic Awarded Over US$700 Million Contract to Continue Service to UK Capital

Transport for London (TfL) has today confirmed the award of its ticketing and fare collection contract, starting in August 2015, to Cubic Corporation's UK subsidiary Cubic Transportation Systems Limited following a competitive tender. The terms of the contract, which are denoted in pounds sterling, are for seven years with a value of over $700 million. It includes an option to extend the contract for a further three years, giving the contract an expected value of over $1 billion. (more...)
