Returning to the West End for a strictly limited run at the London Palladium, press night is on 11 December at 7pm. Based on T. S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, the original creative team - Director Trevor Nunn, Associate Director and Choreographer Gillian Lynne, Designer John Napier and Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber - are reunited to bring Cats back to the West End this Christmas. SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ Expect Labs, the creator of the MindMeld platform for building intelligent voice interfaces, today announced that it has raised a $13 million Series A financing. This financing round was led by IDG Ventures and a subsidiary of USAA, and also includes Intel Capital, Samsung Ventures, Telefonica Digital, Liberty Global Ventures, Fenox Ventures, Westcott LLC, and Quest Venture Partners. These investors join Expect Labs' existing investors Google Ventures, Greylock Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners and KPG Ventures to bring the total funding for the company to $15.4 million. Music Director ?Marin Alsop will lead the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) in Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 8 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 3 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore. Also on the Classical Concert Series program are Barber's Medea's Meditation and Dance of Vengeance and Osvaldo Golijov's Rose of the Winds (BSO premiere). The Rite of Spring is the subject of Maestra Alsop's third Off the Cuff program of the 2014-2015 season, held Friday, January 9 at 8:15 p.m. at Strathmore and Saturday, January 10 at 7 p.m. at the Meyerhoff. Ten young instrumentalists from the Music Academy of the West are about to inaugurate the New York Philharmonic Global Academy Fellowship Program January 3-13, 2015, when they travel to New York City to train and play alongside New York Philharmonic musicians. All ten instrumentalists are from the prestigious Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California, selected by audition to be the inaugural Zarin Mehta Fellows. At a time when there is more competition than ever to succeed in the music profession, these Fellows will be immersed in all aspects of an orchestral player's life, from audition to performance, learning invaluable career skills.
