CRAZY FOR YOUô is the story of Bobby Child, a well-to-do 1930's playboy, who's dream in life is to dance. And despite the serious efforts of his mother and soon-to-be-ex-fiancee, Bobby achieves his dream! Memorable Gershwin tunes include I Can't Be Bothered Now, Bidin' My Time, I Got Rhythm, Naughty Baby, They Can't Take That Away from Me, But Not for Me, Nice Work if You Can Get It, Embraceable You and Someone to Watch Over Me. It's a high energy comedy which includes mistaken identity, plot twists, fabulous dance numbers and classic Gershwin music.

Joining Tom Hollander are: Clare Foster (Cecily), Freddie Fox (Tristan Tzara), Forbes Masson (Lenin), Peter McDonald (James Joyce), Amy Morgan (Gwendolen) and Sarah Quist (Nadya). Four Texans Featured in 42ND STREET Tour, Coming to Dallas Summer Musicals and Bass Hall!

Next week, the national touring cast of 42nd STREET arrives at Dallas Summer Musicals, featuring a cast of 38 accomplished actors, singers and tap dancers. Although many of the touring gypsies currently consider New York City their home base, four of them were raised locally in the Lone Star State, and cannot wait to put on their dancing shoes back home next week. While on a one-week lay off from the tour this week, I caught up with Texas's own Caitin Ehlinger, Matthew J. Taylor, Mandy Modic and Sarah Fagan. The show runs in Dallas from June 28th to July 10th, and at Forth Worth's Bass Hall July 12th-17th. (more...)

Reagle Music Theatre to Present CRAZY FOR YOU, 8/4-14

Broadway veteran Kirby Ward will direct and star in Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston's Crazy for You, George and Ira Gershwin's musical comedy about a 1930's playboy who just wants to dance.  Crazy for You is the final production in the company's 48th consecutive summer season and will run for 8 performances from August 4-14, 2016 at the Robinson Theatre (617 Lexington St. Waltham, MA, 02452).  In addition to directing, Ward will reprise his spectacular Olivier Award-nominated role as "Bobby Child", the part he originated for the 1993 London premiere.  This high energy production will also star Broadway veteran Beverly Ward (Epic Proportions, Billy Elliot ) as "Polly Baker."  The family-friendly show features flashy tap dance numbers and such memorable songs as 'Someone to Watch Over Me,' 'Embraceable You' and 'I Got Rhythm." BWW Review: Crazy For CRAZY FOR YOU

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston brings back the original sets, costumes, and choreography for its fourth production of the 1992 Tony Award-winner for Best Musical. Crazy for You could be subtitled "Gershwin's Greatest Hits," with eighteen musical treats splendidly played by a 15-piece orchestra conducted by Music Director Dan Rodriguez. Broadway veterans and Reagle audience favorites Kirby Ward (Director) and Beverly Ward star and give a song-and-dance master class that will have you tapping your feet right along with them. Award-winning actor Maddy Hill, in the lead role of Imogen, is best known for the recurring role of Nancy Carter in EastEnders (BBC), for which she won Best Newcomer at the National Television Awards in 2015, and Best Newcomer in the British Soap Awards 2014, as well as being nominated for Best Newcomer at the TV Choice Awards 2014.
