The Holiday Inn Westbury - Long Island was recently contacted by the Family and Children's Association to donate various items consisting of practical, everyday products such as soap, shampoo, mouthwash and other such items.The Association's program is aimed toward helping over 9,000 senior citizens who are home bound, living in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and nursing homes. The items are intended to greatly enhance the well being of seniors throughout the Long Island area. The Holiday Inn Westbury along with its owners, Mr. and Mrs. Halperin and its management team were eager and quick to assist, and they donated hundreds of items to be distributed by the Association leading up to New Year's Eve. Upon meeting some of the folks from the Association, the Holiday Inn has committed to do more for them, which includes donating fresh 12 - 14 pound turkeys for Thanksgiving, which are being donated from the Holiday Inn's staff members. The 9/12 Generation Project and Military Child Education Coalition have announced “Operation We Send Hope”, a video contest that will send messages of “hope” and “thanks” to military Boys and Girls who may be without a parents this holiday season. FOUR $250 grants will be awarded to the best videos which will be delivered to children all over the world. Students in grades 6 – 12 are eligible to participate. (more...)
