by David Clarke - Sep 30, 2014

If you're a fan of Cazwell, you've been anticipating HARD 2 B FRESH since Nov. 8, 2011 when his single 'Unzip Me' was released. If you're not familiar with Cazwell, this album is a great introduction to him. Ranging in styles from house and electronica to rap and dance, Cazwell's HARD 2 B FRESH is 100% a contemporary hip-hop album that sounds like it was recorded in the early 1990s. #ThrowbackTuesday, anyone? by Jack L. B. Gohn - Oct 10, 2014

'How on earth do you award aesthetic points to a 75-minute suicide note?' asked critic Michael Billington after seeing the original 2000 London production of Sarah Kane's 4.48 Psychosis, her final theater piece, staged 16 months after Kane's self-inflicted death (by hanging in a psychiatric ward). The answer to Billington's question is, you award aesthetic points to a suicide note the same way you award aesthetic points to anything else: Is it well-written, does it show you something new, does it move you? The answers to these follow-up questions, with this piece (which is admittedly impossible not to view as a suicide note) are yes, yes, and yes. And Iron Crow Theatre has given it simply an outstanding production. (more...)

by Robert Barossi - May 20, 2014

Since the earliest shows produced by The Wilbury Group, the company has grown by leaps and bounds, becoming a force in the Rhode Island theater scene. They've established themselves a fine young professional theater company and arrive now at the end of a theatrical season they can and should be proud of. On the other hand, their final show of this season seems to be a bit of a step backwards. Or, perhaps, a missed opportunity, as their production of the classic musical Cabaret is surprisingly and disappointingly safe and rather dull. (more...)

'The Gospel According to Judas: A Handbook on Life' is Released'The Gospel According to Judas: A Handbook on Life' is Released
by BWW News Desk - Jun 30, 2014

'The Gospel According to Judas: A Handbook on Life' is the new book by John H. Doe, available now on Amazon. John H. Doe is his real name. And he claims that he can make sense of the world. All of it, even the parts that don't make sense at all. The cosmos is scrutinized between the covers of this nonfiction book. This volume may be slim, but it is dense, and covers ground from what it means to exist to the existence of God, and what it could possibly be: to love. It is a philosophy as one does not usually imagine, the experience first hand as one who was lost became found. On October 7, 1988 JD was drafted as a soldier in what could be known as the War in Heaven. A war between angels. A war in eternity. He didn't realize at the time what he had gotten into. But as it was ending (some 25 years later in the fight, off and on through those years), he discovered it was one of the keys that unlocked an understanding of why the things of the world are as they are: why there is pain, why there is so much injustice, what is the meaning of life. Why so much goes wrong when God is good. This book does not have the answers as much as puts you on your own path to find your own answers. It is come of visions from God. Sound crazy? Yeah, you could say there's a little of that. But you will find that it is the truth that really sounds crazy. If you would like to look for yourself, get it on Amazon by searching for 'gospel judas john doe.' Find out for yourself what it all means. About the Author John H. Doe ('Doe' being a rare Korean last name) researched artificial intelligence for over a decade, when certain events Blasted him out of that orbit. You wouldn't know it by looking at him that he had routinely talked to angels. He has written one other book, 'The Sinner's Prayer Book,' and has had his poetry published. Currently residing in Manhattan, recovering from why he wrote his latest book. Or trying to. (more...)
