Rose Hall, singer and actress, CORINNA SOWERS ADLER returns to the Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street, on Sunday, February 19 at 6pm to create a Live Recording of her highly acclaimed show 'High Standards'. The show is musically directed by legendary musical arranger, Alex Rybeck and will feature Mr. Rybeck on piano. Sadly, this glimpse at a carnival-like event disguised as a serious debate on the subject of, as it was known at the time, women's lib, is likely to remind audience members of current headlines. Kendal-Crosslands Communities Celebrate Five Year Intergenerational Partnership with The Chester Charter School for the Arts

In 2012, residents of Kendal at Longwood, a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community, joined Dr. John Alston, then a music professor at Swarthmore College, and Chester city educators and advocates to create an educational start-up for the children of Chester. Five years later, Kendal residents and Chester families and teachers are celebrating the success of their partnership and their school, now known as The Chester Charter School for the Arts (CCSA). Kennedy Center presents 2017 NEA Jazz Masters Concert

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts will celebrate the 2017 NEA Jazz Masters with a free concert, Monday, April 3, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall. The performance will honor the recipients of the nation's highest honor in jazz, highlighting their lifetime achievements and exceptional contributions to the advancement of jazz music. CAMBRIDGE, MA - Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today announced the publication of Explaining Suicide: Patterns, Motivations, and What Notes Reveal by Cheryl Meyer, Taronish Irani, Katherine Hermes and Betty Yung. It is the first large-scale analysis of suicide motivation across multiple ages in the same time period, made possible via a unique dataset of all suicide notes collected by the coroner's office in southwestern Ohio from 2000 through 2009. At the same time, Elsevier announced publication of four additional psychology books. (more...)

The Feb. 11 telecast, with host Alec Baldwin and musical guest Ed Sheeran, scored a 7.2 rating, 18 share in “live plus same day” household results from the 56 local markets metered by Nielsen Media Research and a 3.6/18 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
