OUT LOUD Theatre is kicking off their 5th Season and 3-part series 'That Way Madness Lies' with Peter Weiss's 1960's classic, Marat/Sade. Full title, The Persecution & Assassination of Jean-Paul MARAT as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de SADE Set in 1808 in the Asylum of Charenton, Marat/Sade explores mental health, revolution, and what it means to be 'free'. Structured almost entirely as a 'play within a play' - led by the direction of the Marquis de Sade - the inmates of Charenton relive and retell the horrors of the French Revolution, all the while grappling with their own internal and external realities. World Premiere Play GOONIE Comes to Atwater Village Theatre 4/7

FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE Comes to Arts Asylum This Spring

This musical comedy is based on an earlier musical short of the same name by Louis Jordan from 1943. it had its UK debut in 1990 a the Theatre Royal Stratford East, running for over four years in the West End and then premiering on Broadway in 1992. The story: features Nomax (played by Damron R Armstrong making a surprise  appearance in the last show of his inaugural season) whose broke and girlfriend has left him. He's then aided back to soberity by the band Five Guys Named Moe ( Big Moe - Douglass Walker, Four-eyed MoeNathaniel Rasson, Eat Moe - Rodney Thompson, No Moe - Christopher Barksdale and Little Moe - Francisco "Pancho" Villeage) who seem to emerge from his radio to take him on a comedic musical journey of selfawareness. JAYME STONE'S LOMAX PROJECT Comes to Hartford

As part of THE AMERICAN ROOTS FESTIVAL, the Autorino Center for the Arts and Humanities at the University of Saint Joseph presents two concerts of Jayme Stone's Lomax Project and one free community workshop. All activities will be located on the University's main campus at 1678 Asylum Avenue, West Hartford, Conn. The concerts will be performed on March 31 and April 1, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. with Mama's Marmalade from Amherst, MA to play an opening set. On March 30, 2017 at 6 p.m., Jayme Stone will also be leading a free TED-style talk about how he worked his way through the immense Lomax archive to create this live touring performance. (more...)

Bridge Repertory Theater, in a co-production with Playhouse Creatures, presents Emily Mann's MRS. PACKARD, a drama inspired by true events, chronicling one woman's fight for the right to freely express her opinion, even if it differed from that of her husband. Under the direction of Emily Ranii, a cast of eighteen actors, lead by Olivia D'Ambrosio, Joseph Rodriguez, and Steven Barkhimer, stages a vivid and compelling interpretation of Mann's play. Milwaukee Repertory Theater Announces 2017/18 Season

Milwaukee Repertory Theater Artistic Director Mark Clements and Managing Director Chad Bauman are pleased to announce the 2017/18 Season with 13 productions in four venues spanning September 2017 - May 2018.  With the start of the 2017/18 Season both Artistic Director Mark Clements and Managing Director Chad Bauman will renew their contracts with Milwaukee Rep for an additional four and six years respectively.  Artistic Director Mark Clements began his tenure at Milwaukee Rep in 2010 by introducing a musical into the Quadracci Powerhouse season, creating the New Play Development program, and adapting and directing the world premiere production of A Christmas Carol this past December.   With this contract renewal through 2021 he will continue his commitment to presenting world class works on all three stages.    Managing Director Chad Bauman came to The Rep in 2013 and will continue through 2023 per his contract renewal.  In his time here he has implemented a fruitful strategic business model that supports the theater's artistic vision with a focus on quality, inclusion, citizenship, innovation, and stability.
