The classic tale of Arabian Nights, a genie in a lamp and a beautiful princess will be entertaining families in Warrington in the new year. Culture Warrington recently announced their collaboration once again with Tony Peers Ltd to bring another pantomime. January 2017 will see Parr Hall raise its curtains on the classic tale of Aladdin, which is sure to delight children and adults alike. Lookingglass Theatre Company Names New Artistic Director

? Lookingglass Theatre Company announces the election of its newest Artistic Director, Ensemble Member Heidi Stillman. Stillman has served as Artistic Director of New Work since 2004 and replaces current Artistic Director, Ensemble Member Andrew White. White, who has held the post since 2010, will serve as the company's first Connectivity and Engagement Director. Ensemble Member Philip R. Smith remains on the artistic leadership team in his role as Producing Director. In this spirit of ensemble and collaboration, Lookingglass Ensemble members routinely vote on the position of artistic director every three years. Elections are then ratified by the Lookingglass Board of Directors, and this artistic transition is effective immediately. (more...)

Marin Theatre Company's THE LITTLE MERMAID Opens Tomorrow

?This spring, Marin Theatre Company will round out its first ever fully self-produced Family Series season of Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) plays with an adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's classic tale, The Little Mermaid. In this version adapted by Mike Kenny, characters dubbed "Flotsam" and "Jetsam" act as simple but mystical bits of ocean rubbage who happen to be very imaginative storytellers. The pair act on a minimal set using props from a treasure trunk to take on the forms of the characters in their story, including The Little Mermaid herself, the mermaid's sisters, a handsome prince, and the infamous Sea Witch. Children will love this reinterpretation of the classic story for its creativity, humor, and excitement. (more...)

Joining Mel Geidroyc are Natasha Gordon, Martins Imhangbe, Elizabeth Tan and Nigel Whitmey. Natasha Gordon replaces Josette Simon who has had to withdraw from the production for personal reasons.
