Denver Center for the Performing Arts Broadway announces the 2015 recipients for The Bobby G Awards, a regional awards program for The National High School Musical Theatre Awards. Emma Buchanan and Evatt Salinger, the 2015 Bobby G Award recipients of the Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role and Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role, will represent Colorado at The National High School Musical Theatre Awards in New York. Both are from Durango High School's production of Les Miserables. Emma Buchanan played Eponine and Evatt Salinger played Jean Valjean. (more...)

School of Rock-The Musical may not hit Broadway until later this year, but a select group of people will get an early sneak peek! Creator Andrew Lloyd Webber has invited guests†(scroll down to read the full, official invitation letter!)†to the Grammercy Theatre to watch an early version of the new musical.The article also reveals that the show,†which begins previews on Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Winter Garden Theatre, will star Alex Brightman (Wicked, Big Fish, Matilda) as substitute teacher, Dewey. Additional casting has not yet been announced.†Tickets are now on sale for the preview concerts, scheduled for June 3 at 7:30pm, June 4 at 7:30pm, June 5 at 7:30pm and June 6 at 2:00pm. (more...)

Kenyon Phillips, known for his inventive blend of orchestral rock, surrealist theater and interactive cabaret, will resurrect his autobiographical rock opera 'The Life and Death of Kenyon Phillips' this August at Webster Hall. Hailing from Broadway to downtown and everywhere in between, the show's illustrious cast of singers, dancers, actors, and circus artists continues to grow. Most recently added is Daphne Rubin-Vega, best known for her leading roles in 'RENT' and 'Anna in the Tropics.' Rubin-Vega will reprise her role as Kenyon's mother, which she performed in the original production of 'The Life and Death of Kenyon Phillips' at Joe's Pub in May 2014. (more...)

A major new and immersive contemporary ballet-collaboratively imagined by choreographer Wayne McGregor, visual artist Olafur Eliasson, and award-winning producer/composer Jamie xx-makes its U.S. premiere at Park Avenue Armory this September. Inspired by Jonathan Safran Foer's enigmatic and eponymous novel,Tree of Codes†distorts conventional perceptions of space and time, through manipulation of light, reflection, sound, and movement.
