A Streetcar Named Desire tells the tale of former school teacher and socialite Blanche DuBois, as she's forced to move in with her sister Stella and her animalistic husband Stanley. Grand Reopening of the Wells Theatre with A STREET CAR NAMED DESIRE

Virginia Stage Company is back in the Historic Wells Theatre after a nine-month renovation, and will officially reopen with opening night of A Streetcar Named Desire on January 20. Updates to the space include two new classrooms, a new bar in the renovated and more welcoming Tazewell lounge, a new electronic marquee, and as requested - more ladies' restrooms. Everyman Theatre brings Charles Dickens' classic novel to the stage in a dynamic adaptation by Gale Childs Daly. Hailed as "tight and suspenseful" by the Chicago Tribune, Daly's adaptation of Great Expectations masterfully condenses Dickens 500-page novel into a high-spirited play where only six actors portray more than 35 characters.
