'Tell Me On A Sunday' extends at Bailiwick to Sept 26th

Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical TELL ME ON A SUNDAY, receiving it's Chicago premiere in the Bailiwick Repertory Studio Theater, has been extended to September 26. This one-woman tour de force chronicles the journey of Emma, a free-spirited British hat designer making a new home in New York. The 2009 Theatre Hall of Fame inductees have been revealed and include such icons as actors Jim Dale, John McMartin and Lynn Redgrave; producers Roger Berlind and Ted Mann; composers Stephen Schwartz and Andrew Lloyd Webber; and, posthumously, the late playwright/actor Charles Ludlum. The Annual Theatre Hall of Fame ceremony, now in its 39th year, will be held Jan. 25, 2010, in the Gershwin Theatre's North Rotunda. Terry Hodge Taylor is producing the event. (more...)

In a concert recorded at the Mermaid Theatre in London, the BBC Concert Orchestra is joined by a star studded cast, headed by Stephen Fry as the narrator under the direction of Simon Lee. Andrew Lloyd Webber was recently admitted back to the hospital having developed a 'postoperative infection following surgery to remove his prostate three weeks ago.' Lloyd Webber remained in the hospital for a few days to monitor the infection and is now resting at home. The famed maestro of the musical stage posted a thank you message on his official website in response to the many get well wishes he received. (more...)

Webber's official web site confirms the news, noting that 'Andrew has been re-admitted to hospital tonight following his operation for prostate cancer. Trevor Nunn's critically acclaimed production will transfer to the Garrick Theatre from 28 March, with press night on Tuesday 7 April and is booking until 25 July 2009.
