Exquisite Corpse Company is thrilled to announce upcoming festival, THIS IS A DISTRACTION. The festival, a culmination of the ECC's innaugural Playwrights-in-Residence cycle, offers up perspectives of distractions in our modern world. Presented within non-traditional performance space, The Parlour, the festival will feature an art gallery curated by ECC Artistic Director, Tess Howsam, and performances of four original one-act plays.

Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park Releases Solo Album POST TRAUMATIC

Linkin Park co-lead singer Mike Shinoda has unveiled his highly-anticipated full-length solo album, Post Traumatic, available now on Warner Bros. Records. The deeply personal 16-track record makes its debut to unanimous acclaim, earning early praise from the likes of NME, Variety, NPR, Billboard, Rolling Stone, Complex, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and Associated Presswho attests, “it's a remarkably honest and intense record.” In support, Shinoda will perform a handful of solo shows this summer, including one-off performances in Los Angeles and New York City, plus festival sets at Reading and Leeds (UK) and Summer Sonic (Japan). The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will present the 21st annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor to Julia Louis-Dreyfus on Sunday, October 21, 2018 in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. The Prize, which is named to honor one of the world's greatest humorists, will be given at a gala performance featuring some of the biggest names in comedy. This year's ceremony marks the 21st consecutive year that the Kennedy Center's marquee comedy award will be presented and broadcast nationally. On-sale and ticketing information for this event will be available at a later date, and sponsorship packages for the Mark Twain Prize gala performance are on sale now.

Under the direction of National Philharmonic Concertmaster Colin Sorgi, the National Philharmonic Chamber Players perform the works of Schubert and Mendelssohn on April 22 at 3pm at the John Kendall Recital Hall, Potter Violins in Takoma Park, MD. Entitled "Next Generation," the concert showcases gifted students from the Philharmonic's Summer String Institutes performing the Mendelssohn Octet in E-flat Major alongside members of the Philharmonic Chamber Players. The concert also features Schubert's String Quartet in C Major. Potter's intimate hall seats only 90, allowing concert goers to experience chamber music as it was originally intended, up close and personal. Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival's 27th summer season will launch with the Tony Award-winning musical Ragtime and will feature three Shakespeare plays: the popular comedy Twelfth Night, the profound and lyrical history play King Richard II, and an actor-driven production of the spirited and bittersweet comedy All's Well That Ends Well. As the Festival continues its ambitious progression through the canon, King Richard II will be the 30th of Shakespeare's 38 plays PSF has produced.
