Ciaran O'Reilly (Port Authority) and Charlotte Moore (A Christmas Story) two directors from the Irish Repertory Theatre were interviewed by Peter LeDonne and Jamie deRoy on Backstage with Peter LeDonne. The AM970 The Answer radio program broadcasts from Lillie's Victorian Establishment at 249 West 49th Street every Wednesday from 12-1 PM. Jamie deRoy night life correspondent once again filled in the lunch time crowd on upcoming Cabaret and theatre events. Her own variety show, now in it's 23rd season will take place at Birdland on Monday September 22nd at 7 PM. This years show is an Actors Fund Benefit and features Joy Behar, Stephanie J. KC Rep's 50th Anniversary Season Continues with THE WHO & THE WHAT, Opening 10/17

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 50th anniversary celebration with the Kansas City premiere of Ayad Akhtar's The Who & The What, directed by Kansas City Repertory Theatre's Artistic Director Eric Rosen. From the 2013 Pulitzer Prize-winning writer of Disgraced, Ayad Akhtar's play, The Who & The What takes a passionate and searing look at a family divided by faith, bonded by love and searching for truth in contemporary America. A brilliant young Pakistani writer is focused on finishing a controversial novel that bridges the gulf between her modern life and her traditional heritage. But when her conservative father and sister discover her manuscript, they are all forced to confront the beliefs that define then. Cole Rumbough has an excellent trio backing him up, and his swinging romantic American Songbook interpretations make the Le Cirque Cafe experience a special night when he's appearing. Actress/lawyer Allison Brush made her very well-received Cabaret debut at Upstairs at Vitello's Sunday September 14 with her show entitled For This You Went to Law School? Once an actress/singer, Brush, discouraged by rejection like many, left the profession and studied law, passing the bar exam on her first try. Now after many successful years as a lawyer, in which she claims she was miserable, she is returning to show biz, something she has sorely missed. In fact, participating in weekly sessions of Open Mic at the Gardenia and studying with songstress/master teacher Karen Morrow - law by day and singing at night - singing became her therapy. Music Academy of the West Posts Record Attendance, Revenue Totals in 2014

Santa Barbara, CA -- The Music Academy of the West has posted its highest attendance and revenue totals in its storied 67-year history, campus officials have announced. Sales revenue for the Music Academy's 2014 season, which concluded August 9, was up 3.5 percent over the previous year, while overall attendance grew to just shy of 35,500. Driving much of the gains were two sold-out performances of Carmen -- presented in honor of legendary mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne's 80th birthday -- at Santa Barbara's Granada Theatre on August 1 and 3. The 2014 Summer Festival also saw the Music Academy net a record $459,000 for its full-scholarship program through its annual Cabaret gala fundraiser on August 7 at Fess Parker's DoubleTree Resort.
