The Shape of Things premiered in London in2001, with direction by LaBute himself. The cast featured Paul Rudd, Rachel Weiz, GretchenMol, and Frederick Weller. The cast reprised their roles in the 2003 movie, also directed by LaBute. The Shape of Things follows the seduction and subsequent make over of hapless English undergradAdam by the provocative anarchistic M.F.A student Evelyn. The Shape of Things is considered the first inwhat is often referred to as LaBute's "Beauty Trilogy."
