Award-winning pianist David Korevaar and acclaimed violinist Charles Wetherbee will present “American Tales,” their latest virtual recital from the University of Colorado Boulder's Grusin Hall on Friday, November 20, at 7:30pm Mountain Time. The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is offering several of Broadway's biggest hits, plus amazing concerts and memorable special events for every entertainment preference, from classical music to political comedy, plus international superstars like Diana Ross to Kenny G to Chita Rivera, along with several fascinating talks and lectures throughout the month of March.

On Sunday, December 22, 2019, the new holiday rock opera The Bell Ringer is coming to The Moore Theatre, which is located at 1932 Second Avenue, Seattle, WA 98101. The show features former Trans-Siberian Orchestra members Jody Ashworth and Valerie Vigoda, and delivers a powerful and inspiring experience in the early TSO tradition, combing anthemic rock music with poignant storytelling. Joining them are a number of local music icons, including Roger Fisher (Heart), along with other band members hailing originally from Sweden, Spain, Russia, and Turkey. The Bell Ringer, Seattle-area progressive rock band Symphony North's debut album, relates a story that builds on the ideas of selflessness and self-worth. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Toys for Tots Literacy Program.

Imani Winds is a Grammy-nominated wind quintet that for the past two decades has created meaningful connections through music and, by doing so, has set a new standard for chamber music. The group blends traditional chamber music and newly commissioned work that reflects historical events and today's issues. Imani Winds harnesses dynamic playing and adventurous programming to create breathtaking performances. Mind vs. Matter. Game on. Folger Theatre concludes its 2018/19 season of characters that "shake the world" with Love's Labor's Lost, Shakespeare's quick-witted comedy filled with oaths, trickery, and confessions of love. Vivienne Benesch, the 2017 winner of the annual Zelda Fichandler Award, makes her Folger directorial debut.

Venezuelan pianist Gabriela Martinez makes a welcome return to Costa Mesa to perform Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 with Pacific Symphony in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, January 10-12. Guest conductor David Danzmayr leads the orchestra in the program that contrasts Russian music of the 19th and 20th centuries by Mussorgsky and Prokofiev, respectively, with Chopin's glorious Piano Concerto No. 1.

Macy Medford and Arden Guice may only be college students, but their performances as Violet and Daisy Hilton, the heroines of Side Show - the iconic musical by Bill Russell, Henry Krieger and Bill Condon that debuted on Broadway some 20 years ago - in Belmont University Musical Theatre's production that runs for just one weekend, are nothing less than a professional triumph for each young woman. Thoroughly committed and startlingly focused, Medford and Guice perform an oftentimes tricky, always challenging, task in order that the two young women effectively become their characters, ensuring the musical packs an emotional wallop delivered straight to the collective heart of its audience, while showcasing the evolution of a musical theatre program at the Nashville university, which over the years has gained a national reputation as the training ground of the next generations of Broadway stars yet to be.

It's almost undefinable, perhaps even undescribable, yet as with any writer's efforts to put into words how remarkable the woman behind the image is, I'll give it my best shot, attempting to encapsulate the wonder that is Kristin Chenoweth in 2,000 words or less (but if I go over, don't judge too harshly - I'm simply stating the facts that prove the folly of my initial hypothesis).

Anyone arriving at the San Francisco Opera expecting that the new John Adams-Peter Sellars collaboration, GIRLS OF THE GOLDEN WEST, will sound like any of their previous projects--THE DEATH OF KLINGHOFFER, DR. The Cofounders and Board of Directors of Mount Tremper Arts (MTA) have announced that Crystal Wei has been named Executive Director. Wei will lead the Catskills-based creative laboratory and performance space as it enters its second decade.

Bergen County Players (BCP) concludes its 84th season with a staged reading of Standing on Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays. Conceived by BCP alum Brian Shnipper and directed by Mark Rinis, this anthology of monologues and short plays began as a series of benefit events in Los Angeles, taking on a life of their own as an inspiring theatrical evening. The show will only run two nights, June 10 and 11 at the Little Firehouse Theatre, 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell.
