TCM Film Festival & Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to Honor Mel Brooks in April

Legendary funnyman Mel Brooks is set to be a featured guest at the TCM Classic Film Festival in April. As part of the festivities, TCM will partner with the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce as they honor Brooks with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which marks its 50th anniversary this year. Brooks will also introduce a festival screening of his first feature film, The Producers (1968), which earned Brooks an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. (more...)

ASF Announces Spring Provocative Premieres: NOBODY and THE FALL OF THE HOUSE

The Alabama Shakespeare Festival, one of the country's leading theatres in the creation of new stage works, will produce the world premieres of Nobody and The Fall of the House this spring. Produced in a series called Provocative Premieres, Nobody will run March 12-28 and The Fall of the House will run April 9-25. The classic song 'I Say A Little Prayer', originally sung by Dionne Warwick,' will be added to the upcoming revival of 'Promises, Promises' starring Kristin Chenoweth and Sean Hayes. The musical features a score by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, who also wrote 'Prayer'. Chenoweth will sing the song during the first act of the show. (more...)
