From Osage to Oz: Rondi Reed Joins WICKED March 17

Beginning performances Tuesday, March 17, Tony Award-winner RONDI REED will join the Broadway company of the hit musical Wicked in the role of Madame Morrible. Ms. Reed was the original Morrible in the Chicago production of Wicked and returned to the role in Chicago after winning the Tony Award for August: Osage County. She joins a cast which includes Nicole Parker as Elphaba, Alli Mauzey as Glinda, P.J. Benjamin as The Wizard, Kevin Kern as Fiyero, Alex Brightman as Boq, Cristy Candler as Nessarose, and Timothy Britten Parker as Dr. Dillamond. (more...)

Broadway Sessions w/ Ben D is thrilled to welcome Wicked's Julie Reiber and mac award winner Brandon Cuttrell February 10th. Julie Reiber is currently the stand-by for ELPHABA in Broadway's Wicked. San Francisco Landmarks Turn Green In Honor Of WICKED

San Francisco is painting the town green to welcome the musical hit phenomenon, Wicked, back home to San Francisco, where it made its world premiere in 2003. The city's iconic monuments will be lit green to celebrate the open ended engagement of the new San Francisco company of Wicked which began performances at The Orpheum Theatre on January 27. On Monday, January 12, 2009 at 8 p.m., the Chicago Company of Wicked will host DEFYING INEQUALITY, a special evening of benefit cabaret performances promoting equality and civil rights. Held at Park West (322 W. Armitage, Chicago) and featuring cast members from Wicked as well as special guest performers, this unique one-night only event will benefit Empire State Pride Agenda, Equality California, Garden State Equality and Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force, four non-profit charitable organizations working to legislate equality and protect civil rights for the gay and lesbian community. With only 24 performances remaining, the Chicago company of Wicked continues to break all records, changing Chicago for good. Composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz and Kerry Ellis, current star of the Broadway smash Wicked, in full costume as the show's green heroine, Elphaba, The Wicked Witch of The West, lit the Empire State Building green on Monday, October 27th. The building glowed Wicked green from dusk to midnight on Monday in honor of Wicked's 5th Anniversary Celebration. (more...)
