Beginning performances Tuesday, July 21, DEE ROSCIOLI will assume the role of Elphaba in the musical blockbuster Wicked. Ms. Roscioli is making her Broadway debut after playing the role of Elphaba for the final two years of the record-breaking Chicago production of Wicked. Dee joins a cast which includes Alli Mauzey as Glinda, Tony Award-winner Rondi Reed as Madame Morrible, P.J. The producers of the smash hit musical Wicked announced today that Academy Award-winning actress Patty Duke will play the role of ?Madame Morrible' beginning March 24th. Carol Kane, who currently stars as ?Madame Morrible', had always been scheduled for a limited engagement of the opening eight weeks of Wicked's return home to San Francisco. She will give her final performance at the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco on Mach 22nd. In addition to the new casting in March, a new block of tickets will be made available beginning March 15th for the open-ended engagement of Wicked. (more...)

On Monday, January 12, 2009 at 8 p.m., the Chicago Company of Wicked will host DEFYING INEQUALITY, a special evening of benefit cabaret performances promoting equality and civil rights. Held at Park West (322 W. Armitage, Chicago) and featuring cast members from Wicked as well as special guest performers, this unique one-night only event will benefit Empire State Pride Agenda, Equality California, Garden State Equality and Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force, four non-profit charitable organizations working to legislate equality and protect civil rights for the gay and lesbian community.
