The 2013 Season presents a collection of tales of ordinary people leading extraordinary lives! As Mercer County's premiere summer repertory company for more than four decades, PST produces four mainstage shows, a children's play, and several children's workshops over 8 weeks annually in the intimate Hamilton Murray Theater on Princeton University's campus. Princeton Summer Theater to Stage TIME STANDS STILL, 8/1-11

The fourth and final show of Princeton Summer Theater's 2013 Season arrives this weekend ready to stir audiences with powerful storytelling and intensely heartfelt performances. From the company that brought you She Loves Me, Crimes of the Heart, and The 39 Steps, hailed by U.S. 1 newspaper as PST's "best productionÂ…in at least 10 years," Donald Margulies's Tony-nominated Time Stands Still promises to shake up the summer with compellingly raw drama. Maeve Brady and Brad Wilson costar as Sarah and James, a photographer and journalist who have spent their lives documenting devastating international conflict. When a life-threatening injury puts their work on hold, they are forced to re-define their wartime relationship for the demands of peace. PST's Time Stands Still runs August 1st-11th. Performances are Thursday-Saturday at 8pm, and Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets are $25, $20 for students. A reception catered by Princeton's Fruity Yogurt will follow the Sunday, August 4th matinee performance! (more...)

According to published reports, Oscar nominee and Broadway actress Karen Black passed away on Thursday, August 8, at 74 after a two-year battle with cancer. The actress started a GoFundMe campaign in March to raise money for her treatment. In the end, her fans contributed around $62,000 in donations. (more...)

MY NAME IS ASHER LEV Opens at Performance Network Theatre Tomorrow

"My Name is Asher Lev" adapted by Aaron Posner from the novel by Chaim Potok is the narrative of a young Jewish boy who lives in Brooklyn with his extremely orthodox family as he travels through time, reliving his journey as a painter and the struggles it presented within his family. A proud co-production with Performance Network Theatre in Ann Arbor and the Jewish Ensemble Theatre (JET) in West Bloomfield, "My Name is Asher Lev" received rave reviews from critics at the JET in April. The performances in West Bloomfield were so successful that the JET extended the run through June. "My Name is Asher Lev" is now coming to Performance Network Theatre on August 8 through September 8 starring Naz Edwards, Mitchell Koory, and John Seibert. Bucks County Playhouse has announced that Charles Busch's Tony Nominated play The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, directed by four-time Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines will be the final production of the 2013 Summer season. In this sexy musical revue, three superb male singers perform an anthology of Bennett's best work - from 'Rags to Riches' to 'Put On a Happy Face' to the title track and many more - celebrating more than six decades of remarkable music in this swingin' walk down memory lane. David Grapes and Todd Olson are co-creators for the production; Todd Olson will also be directing The Rep's production. Original piano and vocal arrangements for I Left My Heart are by Vince di Mura. The cast features singers Eric Jon Mahlum, Andrew McMath and Rob Tucker, all making their Rep debuts, and Richard Carsey, well-known to Milwaukee audiences from his years with Skylight Music Theatre, will accompany them on piano. Carsey is also the Music Director for the production. Wallis Annenberg Center For The Performing Arts Announces Inaugural Season

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts announces its Inaugural Season beginning with performances by the Martha Graham Dance Company, which open the 500-seat Goldsmith Theater on November 8 and 9, 2013, followed by the play Parfumerie by Miklos Laszlo, adapted by Edward P. Dowdall and directed by Mark Brokaw, from November 26 to December 22, 2013. The romantic tale Parfumerie inspired the films The Shop Around the Corner, In the Good Old Summertime, and Nora Ephron's You've Got Mail, as well as the Broadway musical She Loves Me. As a special program, an exhibition on perfume entitled Timeless Scents: 1370-2013, a history of iconic fragrances through the ages is being created especially for The Wallis by Chandler Burr, former New York Times scent critic.
