Tour de Rue, the brainchild of Schoen and Urrea, works with the innovative technology behind Kinect TM and Google Earth to provide stationary cyclists with an interactive experience, allowing them to explore the world, steering to select routes, and passing landmarks and scenery in real time. The project is being crowd-funded through the popular site, Kickstarter. The Tour de Rue project is looking to raise $20,000 by March 10 in order to finish development. (more...)

Since 2000, the Studio Theatre has hosted the Louise Heck-Rabi Dramatic Playwriting One Act Festival, encouraging young playwrights to submit their original works. Each year, 6-7 semi-finalists are chosen out of all submissions. The plays are then read at a Workshop, where they are critiqued by judges. Three finalists win a scholarship as well as the opportunity to produce their play in front of a live audience. Each winning playwright has a chance to work with a student director and student performers to realize their productions on the stage. (more...)

Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) next free OSL@DMC event at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music will feature American composer Sean Shepherd previewing his new commission for St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble. Mr. Shepherd will share his thoughts, insights and inspirations, and members of OSL will play excerpts from his new composition. The world premiere of Mr. Shepherd's Quintet will take place at OSL's next chamber series program, entitled Spin Paris, March 3 - 8, 2013. This is his first composition for OSL. (more...)
