Houston Ballet to Present Morris, Welch & Kylian, 5/28-6/7

From May 28 - June 7, 2015 Houston Ballet offers up a mixed repertory program titled Morris, Welch & Kylian featuring three of today's most dynamic and musical choreographers. A world premiere of The Letter V by acclaimed American choreographer Mark Morris, the world premiere of Stanton Welch's Zodiac and the revival of Ji?i Kylian's iconic Svadebka make this program a must-see for all ballet lovers. Zodiac is made possible through the generosity of Leticia Loya. Houston Ballet will give six performances of Morris, Welch & Kylian at Wortham Theater Center in downtown Houston. Pochi giorni fa (martedi 28 aprile, per l'esattezza), sono state finalmente annunciate le candidature ai Tony Awards 2015, premi che si terranno domenica 7 giugno al Radio City Music Hall (New York). Si tratta della sessantanovesima edizione dei premi che portano indelebile il nome di Antoinette Perry (da cui 'Tony'), attrice e leader dell'American Theatre Wing. I premi saranno presentati dal dinamico duo Alan Cumming ('Cabaret', 'Macbeth') e Kristin Chenoweth (nota soprattutto per aver interpretato il ruolo di Glinda nel cast originale di 'Wicked').

Roundabout Theatre Company presents the classic musical On the Twentieth Century, which will play a 20-week limited engagement through July 5, 2015 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street). Later this morning, Bruce Willis and Mary-Louise Parker will announce the 2015 Tony Award Nominations LIVE from the Paramount Hotel's Diamond Horseshoe in New York City, but another question still remains...who will host the ceremony in June? According to today's New York Post, the Tonys have tapped stage and screen stars Kristin Chenoweth (currently starring On the Twentieth Century) and Alan Cumming for the job.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY star Kristin Chenoweth will be out again for Sunday's matinee. The star missed performances on Friday and on Saturday due to illness. Chenoweth's understudy is Mamie Parris. No word yet on when she'll be back in the show- stay tuned!

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that PS Classics will record the cast album of the critically acclaimed Broadway revival of ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY on Monday, March 23, 2015. This new Broadway Cast Recording will be released on May 19, 2015. The production is currently playing at the American Airlines Theatre through July 5, 2015.
