Last night the Danish String Quartet, the hottest young classical music group, were welcomed to New York in preparation for their upcoming Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center concerts this Sunday at Alice Tully Hall and Monday at the Rose Studio, the Danish String Quartet enjoyed a night On the Town. They began the evening by attending Broadway's After Midnight, featuring the Jazz at Lincoln Center All Stars. Following the performance, they went backstage to congratulate the orchestra on their performance before heading to the McKittrick Hotel. They got to experience the end of Sleep No More before their pop-up performance at the Manderley Bar, where they played a brief 15-minute set of Beethoven quartets and Scandinavian folk songs. Jim Brochu's new musical memoir begins an Off-Broadway run at Urban Stages Theatre (259 West 30th Street) February 28th, with opening night set for Wednesday March 5th. This limited run will continue through March 30th only. Robert Bartley directs, with musical direction by Carl Haan.
