Melissa Gilbert, who rose to fame as a child playing Laura in the hugely successful NBC television series 'Little House on the Prairie' during the 1970s, now continues her legacy 'on the prairie' by taking on the role of 'Ma.' Hamingson) and Signature Theatre Company (Founding Artistic Director James Houghton; Executive Director Erika Mallin) announced today that the New York premiere of Tony Kushner's THE INTELLIGENT HOMOSEXUAL'S GUIDE TO CAPITALISM AND SOCIALISM WITH A KEY TO THE SCRIPTURES will be presented in the 2010-2011 season in a co-production between The Public Theater and Signature Theatre Company, in association with the Guthrie Theater. Michael Greif, who directed the world premiere at the Guthrie in April, 2009, will direct the New York premiere, which will play March 22-June 12, 2011 at The Public Theater. GAYFEST NYC Announces Fourth Annual Festival May 6 - June 6

GAYFEST NYC, Inc., (Bruce Robert Harris and Jack W. Batman, Producers), the country's premier producer of new LGBT-themed plays, announces its Fourth Annual Festival, a five-week event filled with new theatre works spotlighting gay issues. This year, the Festival will include four fully-staged productions featuring professional actors, talk-backs with the authors of the Festival plays, appearances by celebrated members of the LGBT community, plus special events. All proceeds from GAYFEST NYC benefit the Harvey Milk High School. Performances are scheduled from May 6 - June 6, 2010 at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex (312 West 36th Street). The disc was recorded at East West Studios in Los Angeles in January 2010, and produced by leading musical director Rob Fisher and veteran arranger Bill Elliott. Two New York premieres will be featured in a concert by the Temple University Symphony Orchestra on Friday, April 9, 2010, at 8 p.m. in Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall (Broadway at 65th St., Manhattan). One of the works, Ansel Adams: America (in its New York premiere) by jazz great Dave Brubeck and his son, Chris, will feature 100 projected images by the eminent American photographer. Internationally Acclaimed Artist, Opera Designer and Director, Choreographer, and Playwright Robert Wilson Named Recipient of 2010 Jerome Robbins Award. Wilson, whose groundbreaking musical works include the multi-national epic 'CIVIL warS,' 'Deafman Glance,' 'Einstein on the Beach,' and 'The Black Rider' and whose productions have been staged across the globe, will be presented with the award by The Jerome Robbins Foundation in December in New York. Given with the monetary prize is a bronze statue, representing one of the sailors from 'Fancy Free / On the Town,' which was modeled on a figure in the permanent installation by Robin Heidi Kennedy on the Terrazzo Jerome Robbins of the Teatro Nuovo in Spoleto, Italy.
