The multi-award-winning NoHo Arts Center Ensemble (NoHoAce) presents a world premiere play, ONE NOVEMBER YANKEE, written and directed by Joshua Ravetch and starring four-time Golden Globe nominee Harry Hamlin and two-time Emmy winner Loretta Swit. ONE NOVEMBER YANKEE will preview on Tuesday, November 13 at 8pm; Wednesday, November 14 at 8pm; Thursday, November 15 at 8pm and will open on Friday, November 16 at 8pm and will run for eight weeks through Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the NoHo Arts Center, 11136 Magnolia Blvd. (at Lankershim) in North Hollywood. Amphibian Stage Productions previously announced casting for its next main stage production, The True History of the Tragic Life and Triumphant Death of Julia Pastrana, the Ugliest Woman in the World by Shaun Prendergast. Bob Hess, Mary Lang, Brandon J. Murphy, Chandler Smith, and Jessica Vera will star in a new production of this powerful play running tonight, October 25 through November 18 at the Berlene T. and Jarrell R. Milburn Theatre at 120 South Main Street. This production will be the first in Amphibian's new home in the Near Southside neighborhood of Fort Worth. (more...)

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced today that it will continue its collaboration with Dallas Theater Center to co-produce the new musical THE FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE in 2014. Following the success of the musical Giant, THE FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, based upon the bestselling novel by Jonathan Lethem, will premiere at Dallas Theater Center in March and continue in New York as part of The Public's 2014-15 Season at Astor Place. RED to Play Dallas Theater Center, Feb 7-Today

Dallas Theater Center welcomes North Texans into the studio of artist Mark Rothko in the Texas premiere of Tony Award-winning Red, directed by DTC associate artistic director Joel Ferrell. This production turns the 9th floor of the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre into Rothko's studio and gives audience members an intimate look at the brilliant and volatile artist as he undertakes a new commission. This show also marks the first production-specific collaboration between DTC and the Dallas Museum of Art, which will provide patrons and visitors the opportunity to learn about the world of Rothko by seeing the play at DTC, viewing original works of art by Rothko and his contemporaries at the DMA and engaging in special events about the work with both organizations. Red opens with preview performances on Thursday, February 7 and runs through Today, March 24 and is the first show ever to be performed on the 9th floor of the Wyly Theatre. (more...)

Dallas Theater Center Patrons Donate Over $63,000 to North Texas Food Bank in 5th Year of Partnership

Dallas Theater Center patrons donated $63,186.72 to the North Texas Food Bank during DTC's annual production of A Christmas Carol. The previous record of $48,988.85 was set in 2010. During the five-year partnership with NTFB, DTC patrons have donated $239,918.35 to the organization. (more...)

SHIRLEY JONES & PATRICK CASSIDY: TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY will take place tonight, February 10th, at 7:00PM, and reunites the Oscar-winning star of stage, films and television, Shirley Jones, with her son, Broadway and television star Patrick Cassidy. Dallas Theater Center will conclude its four-year Shakespeare cycle with one of the playwright's greatest tragedies King Lear, a co-production with Trinity Repertory Company and directed by DTC artistic director Kevin Moriarty.
