Beloved songs from Cy Coleman's award-winning shows including Sweet Charity, City of Angels and The Will Rogers Follies and songs such as 'Witchcraft' and 'The Best is Yet to Come' will be performed at the Orange County Performing Arts Center December 9 - 12 in this heartfelt and personal tribute to the life and incredible work of this great American artist. The show features Tony-winning lyricist David Zippel, who collaborated with Coleman on City of Angels; Center favorite Jason Graae, whose special way around a song has taken him to the Metropolitan Opera, the Hollywood Bowl, Birdland and the Rainbow Room; Jenifer Lewis, who has starred in numerous Broadway productions as well as movies and television and the multi-talented Tami Tappan Damiano, who has appeared on stages all over the world. From now through Christmas day, audience members who bring a donation of one of Women In Need's most requested items (see list below) to The Snapple Theater Center will have the opportunity to purchase a ticket to The Fantasticks for just $20, a savings of $55. For each item donated, The Fantasticks will donate 2 tickets to a special Christmastime performance of The Fantasticks for New York's homeless and disadvantaged women and children featuring a Christmas party with the cast of The Fantasticks - up to 200 tickets. On December 6, 2010 (on what would have been Lynn Fontanne's 123rd birthday), Ten Chimneys Foundation announced that ten of the top stage actors in America have been selected as the 2011 Lunt-Fontanne Fellows. These ten distinguished actors (see list below) were nominated by the nation's premier regional theatres to participate in the Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship Program, a widely acclaimed national program to serve the future of American theatre. Next summer (July 24-31, 2011), the newly selected Lunt-Fontanne Fellows will join Academy Award-winning actress Olympia Dukakis for an intensive weeklong master class and immersion experience at Ten Chimneys, the National Historic Landmark estate of Broadway legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, in Genesee Depot, Wisconsin (just outside of Milwaukee). Michael Urie, best known for his charming portrayal of Marc St. James on ABC's 'Ugly Betty,' will star as Mozart in Amadeus at the Meymandi Concert Hall in Raleigh, North Carolina. The show, which will play this weekend only, marks the first-ever collaboration between the North Carolina Symphony and PlayMakers Repertory Company. In 2009, Urie received a Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Lead Actor when he originated the role of Rudi Gernreich in the off-Broadway play, The Temperamentals. Daniel Crossley takes the lead role of Bill Snibson, Jemima Rooper will play Sally and Miriam Margolyes will take the part of the Duchess.
