Beautiful Soup Theater Announces 2014-2015 Season Featuring THE AUTUMN GARDEN, CHARLOTTE SWEET, GIGI and More

New York-based Beautiful Soup Theater, known for their revivals of Liliom, Rags, A Doll's Life and Moose Murders, has announced their 2014-2015 theatrical season. The season will begin in September with a revival of Lillian Hellman's The Autumn Garden. A study of the defeats, disappointments and diminished expectations of people reaching middle age, Hellman's rarely-seen memory play returns to New York in a new production from Beautiful Soup Artistic Director Steven Carl McCasland. Grove Theater Center (GTC) presents a staged reading of Rachel Ray, playwright Henry Ong's stage adaptation of Anthony Trollope's 19th century novel, on Thursday, May 22 at 7:30pm, as part of its New Play Initiative. GTC Artistic Director, Kevin Cochran, will direct the reading at the theater, located at 1111-b West Olive Avenue, Burbank, CA91506. BWW Reviews: Film Legend Leslie Caron Graces the Laguna Playhouse Stage

Two character plays about love and friendship over time like Same Time, Next Year by Bernard Slade and Driving Miss Daisy by Alfred Uhry are A-list treasures. Their lack of pretension and real humanity make them linger quite joyously in the mind. In spite of some wonderful moments, Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks by Richard Alfieri is not quite at that level. As in a sitcom, many of the reactions are too quick and ready-made...and the outcome relies heavily on illness and sympathy to keep the two characters connected; but despite its flaws, the play is enormously entertaining and appealing in the right hands. What makes the current Laguna Playhouse production so memorable is the pairing of film legend Leslie Caron with 6-time Ovation Award winner David Engel, both known for their superior reliability with a dance step or two. PENSACOLA, Fla., May 20, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ On January 30, 2014, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adopted a Policy Statement and Second Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking concerning text-to-9-1-1. As part of its policy pronouncement, the FCC stated that every wireless carrier and provider of text messaging services using numbers from the North American Numbering Plan should support text to 9-1-1 capabilities that enable the public to send text messages to 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs). Further, among its proposals, the FCC encouraged the cooperation of industry leaders and the public safety community to develop solutions to achieve this objective, and proposed rules that would require all text providers to make text-to-9-1-1 available by December 31, 2014.
