Santa Flies Into London's West End This Week

Santa's New Sleigh was written for the Curve theatre Leicester in December 2012 and was picked up by producer Sam Bradshaw for the Lichfield Garrick last year. After selling out in Lichfield, the show opened last week in Peterborough and is now flying into London's West End until 10th December. (more...)

I like to write tunes. By tunes I mean real hummable melodies. Some people scoff at this as if 'that's easy' or 'not exactly art', but I thoroughly disagree. Lots of songwriters write both music and lyrics, and I've given lyrics a go, but I like to stick to the music. In my opinion, my job is to serve a lyric. A great melody can carry a poor lyric, but a good lyric sure as hell ain't gonna carry a bad tune. When you combine both a great lyric and a great melody then you've hit the jackpot. (more...)

In a style that is incredibly that of Waiting for Godot, this divorced couple comes together and must wait for the person who will come speak to them about their son's grave; of course he doesn't show up. Not having seen or heard from one another in ten long years, they awkwardly await the man that is to save them from their discomfort of being reunited; when he never arrives, they begin to talk about the past. The cast of CATS was simply 'purr-fect' (see what I did there?) at their recent visit to Broadway Sessions. Cast members took to  their songs like cats to cream (oh, dear God), as well as giving us insight in the complicated and ever so flushed out dramaturgy of the CATs society (who likes who, who fights who etc.). Besides fantastic performances cast members helped our audience find their inner Cat with makeup tutorials and choreography lessons..the 'kitten caboodle'.
