El joven protagonista, Cándide, de bien expresivo nombre, practica un optimismo ciego guiado por su tutor, el Doctor Pangloss, que le asegura que todo es para bien en el mejor de los mundos posibles. Llevando a su bien sonante novia, Cunegunda, de la mano, y al referido Doctor Pangloss, Cándide viaja a Lisboa, París, Buenos Aires y hasta al mítico El Dorado, descubriendo a su paso la maldad, la bajeza, la envidia, el sufrimiento y hasta el crimen. Despojado de su idealismo, termina por recalar en Venecia acompañado por la inefable Cunegunda, y sus últimas palabras en la obra, consagrado a su jardín, proclaman: “Y antes de morir tratemos / de dar sentido a esta vida. / No somos sabios ni buenos: / hagámoslo lo mejor que sepamos"

Skylight Music Theatre today announced the cast and creative team for Ruddigore, or The Witch's Curse, presented January 3-19, 2020 in collaboration with Milwaukee Opera Theatre. Skylight celebrates its long history of producing the works of W.S. Gilbert (book and lyrics) and Arthur Sullivan (music) with an imaginatively reinvigorated production of this classic gothic operetta. Ruddigore will be performed in a special, limited run in the Studio Theatre at the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Broadway, in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward.

Originally conceived by Judy Craymer, Mamma Mia! is directed by Artistic Director William Osetek and choreographed by Jane Lanier with music direction by Roberta Duchak. Mamma Mia! runs February 7 April 14, 2019, at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. The press opening is scheduled for Thursday, February 21 at 8:00 p.m.
