Complete casting has been announced for The 5th Avenue Theatre's new production of Sister Act, which begins rehearsals today.

A Soldier's Play officially opened on Broadway on January 21 for a limited engagement at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street).

There comes a moment quite near the conclusion of Roxy Regional Theatre's production of Assassins that is both brilliant and chilling, perfectly encapsulating what the Stephen Sondheim-John Weidman musical is all about.

Actress/Producer Tal Fox is about to open in the rarely produced In Trousers at The Lounge. In our conversation she tells us about this and her other theatrical chestnuts. Signature Theatre and Stephen Sondheim have been a winning combination in the DC theatre scene since 1991when the company presented Sweeney Todd at Gunston. In 1992 it presented the Stephen Sondheim/John Weidman collaboration known as Assassins. The show was produced again by Signature in 2006 in their garage space.

Following last year's successful run of Ruth and The Dark Lady of the Sonnet, Pegasus Opera Company presents another outstanding opera double bill titled Shaw Goes Wilde. The productions are based on Oscar Wilde's The Nightingale and The Rose and George Bernard Shaw's The Music Cure. Jujamcyn Theaters and NETworks Presentations announced principal casting for the North American Tour of William Finn and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical FALSETTOS. Leading the National Company will be Broadway superstars Nick Adams (La Cage aux Folles and Priscilla Queen of the Desert) as "Whizzer," Eden Espinosa (Wicked, Brooklyn The Musical and Rent) as "Trina" and Max von Essen (An American in Paris, Tony Award-nominee, Evita and Les Miserables) as "Marvin."

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast and creative team for Paradise Square: An American Musical. The world premiere is helmed by acclaimed director Moises Kaufman, with choreography by the legendary Bill T. Jones and a book by Marcus Gardley, Craig Lucas, and Larry Kirwan. Music by Jason Howland and Larry Kirwan, with lyrics by Nathan Tysen, and based on the songs of Stephen Foster. Paradise Square is produced by special arrangement with Garth H. The 32nd Israel Film Festival in Los Angeles, the largest showcase of Israeli films in the United States and taking place November 6th – 20th, will showcase two U.S. premieres, four West Coast premieres and seven Los Angeles premieres of documentary films.
