Set in modern day New York City, Ghost The Musical is a timeless fantasy about the power of love. Walking back to their apartment one night, Sam and Molly are mugged, leaving Sam murdered on a dark street. Sam is trapped as a ghost between this world and the next and unable to leave Molly, who he learns is in grave danger. With the help of a phony storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, Sam tries to communicate with Molly in the hope of saving and protecting her.

Dubbed the season of 'ART Inside the Box', the company has moved from Bittner Hall into the basement of 16 Linwood location and has converted it into a black box theater performance space. ART/WNY decision to move from Bittner Hall into this space allows the company more flexibility with productions scheduled for the 2013-14 season as well as allows ART/WNY more of a permenent presences in the space. 'We can build, create and light environments without the overhanging pressure to tear it down and reset the whole thing, from platforms to light grid, for each production.' Added Executive/Artistic Director Matthew LaChiusa. 'That's going to add to the production values of each piece as well as make it more of a engaging experience for patrons.'

Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, the riveting stage version of the new supernatural blues and roots musical from author Stephen King, musician John Mellencamp and producer/songwriter T Bone Burnett, will play Hennepin Theatre Trust's State Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013. This haunting tale of fraternal love, lust, jealousy and revenge will be performed by an ensemble cast of 15 actors and a four-piece live band. The album of the musical (Concord Music Group), featuring such artists as Elvis Costello, Sheryl Crow, Neko Case and Kris Kristofferson, will be released on June 4. Hershey Theatre has announced another great season of top Broadway shows. This year marks 80 years of celebrating the performing arts at the Theatre and bringing premier entertainment to Central Pennsylvania.
American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced today two additional productions for the company's 47th subscription season: Glen Berger's acclaimed solo drama, Underneath the Lintel, starring Emmy Award winner and Academy Award nominee David Strathairn, and Beatrice Basso and Linda Alper's new translation of Eduardo De Filippo's poignant Italian comedy, Napoli!, featuring A.C.T. favorites Marco Barricelli and Stratford Festival star Seana McKenna. These two productions join the previously announced 1776, A Christmas Carol, Major Barbara, Venus in Fur, and The Orphan of Zhao. The final production for the 2013-14 season will be announced at a later date.
The National Theatre's production of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time leads the list with eight nominations, followed by the toe-tapping new musical Top Hat receiving seven, and the West End transfer of Chichester Festival Theatre's revival of Sweeney Todd in close competition with six. Other stand-out nominations include The Audience and Kiss Me, Kate receiving five each, and Constellations, The Bodyguard and Twelfth Night with four.

Black Ensemble Theater Founder and CEO Jackie Taylor announce the return of Chester Gregory (Sister Act, Hairspray) to Black Ensemble Theater to reprise his award-winning interpretation of Jackie Wilson in his one-man show The Eve of Jackie Wilson. An additional show has been added tonight, March 25, at 7:30 p.m. This special engagement will be held at the new Black Ensemble Theater Cultural Center, 4450 N. Clark Street in Chicago.
