Music Director Alan Gilbert will conduct the New York Philharmonic in an all-Russian program, featuring Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2, with the Russian-born pianist Yefim Bronfman as soloist, and Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2, Thursday, January 7, 2010, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 8, at 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, January 12, at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Gilbert will also lead the Rachmaninoff symphony on the Rush Hour Concert, Wednesday, January 6, at 6:45 p.m.

Alfred Hitchcock's THE 39 STEPS, Broadway's longest running comedy, will conclude its Tony Award-winning two year run on January 10, 2010, when it will play its final performance at the Helen Hayes Theatre. The production will have played 771 performances - the longest running Broadway play in seven years.

Following critical acclaim and popular demand, Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced a three-week extension for the World Premiere of THIS, the new play by Obie Award winner Melissa James Gibson (Suitcase, [sic]). Directed by Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin ([sic], eight seasons as Artistic Director of Soho Rep), the production opened Wednesday, December 2. Originally set to run through Sunday, December 13, the limited engagement will now play through Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the theater company's Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street). This date represents the latest extension possible for the show.
